Was in Charleston this past week and had a very nice dinner at the Chop House (across the street from the Convention Center). Very formal atmosphere (yet quite comfortable) and superior service. I had lobster bisque followed by steak au poivre with three cheese and poblano baked macaroni. All three were excellent. My wine was an '04 Freemark Abbey cab which they graciously decanted an hour prior to my arrival. (Decant requested when I made the reservation). All in all it was a pleasant evening and a venue to which I would return.
