The Patriots will likely be back in the AFC Championship (and probably the Superbowl) game again next year. This one loss doesn't come close to adversely impacting their status as the undisputed team of the decade.
Just one more sip. |

Board-O...I think you are correct. I did see an interesting fact that stated that of the last 7 or 8 losers of the S.B., only one made it to a play off game. I am not 100% on this however.
Personally, I am sick of the arrogant N.E. fans this year. Winning is very new to the people there, but c'mon, act like you've been there before. I couldn't have been happier with the outcome. Seeing them lose the last game, the Big One, was some well deserved God Smack! |

That fact is correct, free agency usually destroys the teams that win and lose but since the Pat's play in the AFC East, well, I'll try to un-arrogantly say they'll be back in the play-offs next year if not the Super Bowl. And hey, winning is not new to us, just in certain sports. God forbid we enjoy it. How can you say anything about arrogance? if you're a Mercury Morris fan clearly arrogance doesn't bother you one bit. That's one of the worst parts of this whole loss to me. Board-O is right, the Pats aren't going anywhere, unfortunately neither is Mercury Morris. Tell him we here in New England said thanks for letting us visit with him for a bit, we tried to clean up and leave the house neat, the keys are on the table and he can have whatever we left in the fridge. It's a nice place he's got there. Then tell him to crawl back under the rock he came out from and get some class like Don Shula. |

To Icewino, marcb7, and all other Pats fans, the Pats are still one of the elite teams so stay away from sharp objects for the next few weeks and things will get better. I was a Baltimore Colts and Baltimore Orioles fan in '69, talk about heartbreak. Anytime you spend a season "with" a team and the season ends with that kind of loss, yeah it hurts. It is great to be an enthusiastic fan of the game as well as following the trials and tribulations of YOUR team. You will be shaking your heads over this game for the rest of your lives as the media will NEVER let you forget the outcome of this game. I got to see Namath walking off the field victorious for the umpteenth time again last night.
Icewino, hope all goes well with your family's new arrival in the coming months. Marcb7, where will your friend be posting these new pics for all to see you in your Giants attire? |

Being an open-minded West Coast guy, I find it very amusing when I hear (or see) the New Yorkers calling the New Englanders "arrogant"....
And the early line out of Vegas has the Patriots as the favorites to win next year's Super Bowl, followed by the Colts..... Romeo and Juliet are together in eternity.... |

Wino, Yes, I am an axe murdering serial killer. Your pre-Superbowl posts were nothing but arrogant boasts of what YOU thought was yet to come. Had the Cheaters won, I can only imagine the arrogance you would have launched into cyber space. I don't know whats more pathetic, you trying to pretend your not upset with the New England Cheaters losing the Superbowl or Tiki Barber pretending he doesn't care that he retired a year too early. Don't post boastful nonsense if you can't take the heat for being wrong! Take it like a man!! As Michael Strahan said today "We stopped you out"!!!!!! |

I think I already said I was wrong, learn to read. I also said it bothered me for a few hours, then I got over it. I have a lot more going on in life now than a football team losing. I can take whatever comes my way if it's good natured. I already said I deserve it. I was indeed boastful, you should get excited when something historical is happening to your team. If you don't get emotionally excited when your teams do well why bother following sports at all? And if you can't write about it here what's the point of this thread? The only problem I had with Indy's 100 Ha Ha's was that he was nowhere to be found when his teams died a few weeks ago and offer congratulations to the winners but he managed to pop up and write Ha Ha 100 times or so the second the Pats lost. If it was meant as good natured I have no problem with it. I didn't throw it in Indy's face when his Colts crashed and burned or when his battered Bolts were finally sent packing for the year by the Pats, that would be classless. My joy comes from something good and exciting happening to me and my team, yours apparently comes from bad things happening to others. My cousin sent me a picture of the 72 Dolphins autographed shirt and said maybe next year the Pats could get one. I sent him back a picture of the Pats three rings and said maybe in his lifetime they'd get one. To me that's good natured and fun. The problem I have with your obsessive quoting me and pointing out what we all know, I was wrong, is that you Wine Wiz are just a jerk who gets your pleasure from angrily kicking someone when you think they're down. I'm not down, really, it's just entertainment and fun to me. When it's done it's done. Believe it or not I have more importamt things going on than football (happy Wiz Kid?). How much do you really think the Pats matter to me in the grand scheme you fool? I'm not pretending, they lost, it sucked, and for the next 6 months I don't care. If I had a great bottle of wine the other night and told everyone how good it was and that I thought everyone should try it and was really excited over it would you have a problem with that? Would that be boastful and arrogant to you? My problem with you and your anger towards me for being excited and happy is you don't get excited over your own great glass of wine, you get excited when someone elses prized bottle turned out to be corked. Wine-O,
I don't think anyone here cares about your personal life. Go call Dr. Phil and cry on his shoulder about your personal problems, he likes when people get emotional. Me hateful?? Whats more hateful than a Red Sox fan??? You ended a pre-Superbowl post with "Yankees Suck". Thats not hateful?? People in Boston would almost rather see the Yankees lose than the Sox win. They relish Yankee losses. Try that bull**** somewhere else, not working here. Quite a soft shoe act you have performed here. |

Yes you hateful. classless too. All my boasting and exuberence was based on my team doing something great. All your posts and reactions are based on bitterness, jealousy and someone elsed failure or misery. That's pretty much the definition of hateful you turd. You haven't even enjoyed the win yet because you're too busy spewing hate. Have at it dude, you're a real calssy guy. I don't care that if nobody want's to hear about my personal life, don't read it. I'm just letting you know, since you called me a liar, that the Pats losing is not something I'm concerned with anymore. As for the Yankee's Suck part, that was just putting out the stupid chant the fans around here do, I thought a Yankee's fan could appreciate it. I clarified they don't actually suck, they're just underachieving and mediocre. And yes we do like when they lose, they're in out division and stand directly in the way of us winning and moving on. A loss for them is a win for us, if you can't figure that out you're not only hateful, you're stupid also. |

WW,
Yep, hateful pretty much describes that Wine-O rant. Nice call. Hey Wine-O: WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!! There's a reason every American outside of Chowda-Nation wanted the Pats to lose. Clicky (citation for MiamiAtty's link). -IB PSA: Please report any trolling/flaming immediately (little triangle at bottom right). |

ice wHino,
What a walking emotional contradiction you are. You are a weak individual who is having emotional difficulties. A am picking up strong indications of estrogen from your demeanor. Who the hell posts such details of their personal life on WS? I find it truly frightening that you are bringing off spring to this Earth. You are an eternal boob and obvious sot who deserves nothing less than the back of my hand. |

Well, that was certainly a season—and a Super Bowl—none of us will soon forget. However, I think this thread has run its course. I look forward to seeing if you guys can put together another 28 pages next season...
Cheers and good luck next year! RT |
