...what in the world happened???

Please understand, I fell in love with Kat (we were close) soon after college when Body Heat was released. Cool

I saw her tonight while changing channels in Californication. Good lord!

Never, never in my wildest dreams... Red Face

Yes- an unfortunate example of aging gone wrong.

Another disappointment for me is Beverly D'angelo. Frown

Now that is an understatement, and it has nothing to do with her age per se.

Sounds like she had serious arthritis and was an alcoholic. Two things that do not help aging. She popped up in an episode of Friends as a male cross dresser (I guess she has a sense of humour about it) that performed in Vegas, that was probably 10 years ago now and she looked similar to how she looks now. I never saw Body Heat but loved her in Romancing the Stone.

Body Heat aside, I just never thought of her as one of the world's great beauties, and didn't realize that so many did. Your point is well taken though.

Nor did I, the "shock and awe" is a reflection of how much she has changed from when she was considered a sex symbol back in the day to present. I also must point out the Terri Garr reference as not a "beauty" comparison, but a "WTF" happened comparison! Wink

Something happens when one hits 55 years old!

KT was only 27 when Body Heat was released in 1981! Besides, the best thing about Body Heat was the seductive and mysterious music score, written by award winning composer, John Barry. Barry has won 5 oscars, and probably should have won 5 more. Born Free, Somewhere in Time, Dances with Wolves, most all of those 1960's James Bond scores, The Lion in Winter, Out of Africa, and on & on!

Agree it's a bit shocking to see her these days.
I thought one of her best films was War of the Roses.

Just to be clear, Kathleen Turner (55 years old) came down with rheumatoid arthritis (diagnosed in 1992) and medication greatly impacted her appearance.

Terri Garr (whose "knockers" were admired by Dr. Frankenstein in 1974) disclosed in 2002 that she suffered from multiple sclerosis. She's 64 year old.

Ms. Turner also played Mrs. Robinson in the London production of The Graduate, nude, not too long ago.

Loved her as the voice of Jessica Rabbit.

I was surprised to see how she looked in a bit part in Marley & Me as a tough dog trainer.

Enjoyed her in her younger years, especially that voice and glad to she still wants to act. Hope the best for her.

Just noting that Ms. Turner graduated from my alma mater, the Univ. of Maryland.
