I'm planning a trip to the Rennes/Mont St. Michel area in June. Anyone have suggestions for good basic places to eat or stay?

Many thanks,

My favorite restaurant in Rennes is Le Gallopin. It is quite near the Hotel Mercure Pre Botte which is also a decent place to stay. Don't miss having galettes and cidre while you are in Brittany.

Cheers,

While in the area, see Saint Malo. A walled city on the ocean, with good restaurant choices and nice auberges. It's from this port that Jacques Cartier left to explore what he called Canada.
