Sorry, couldn't resist. Wink

From the article: "Since I sound like my third-grade principal, I'll stop right there."

Since Icewhiningignoramus spent so much time flunking third grade, it's entirely likely it was him.

He'll be back after the Red Sux beat that AAA team, muttering his usual unitelligible unintentional comedic gibberish.

Just one more sip.

It was nice to get some fresh air and BBQ. Lovely park they have out there. It was nice to see the Sox get their magic number down to 5 for a ticket to the dance.

Why BO is that you? I can't see past the glare off your dome but that sounds like the familiar angry garbage that my cyberstalker perpetually spews all over these boards. Even a bit crankier than usual if that's possible. If you spent half as many nights as you do stalking me here with your wife (assuming she can stand to be in the same room as you), a nice bottle of wine and your Viagara I think you'd be a much happier, or at least a lot less grumpy, guy. Try it sometime, it might make these boards a much happier place for the rest of us.

If the Sox beat the Yankees 2 out of 3 this weekend that means no AL East celebration with the Sox in town. I will be satisfied with that situation.

You're welcome to say anything you'd like about my wife or any of my family. I understand what you're trying to do and I don't care at all. That doesn't change the fact that you're an uneducated loser whose sole purpose in coming to this site is to ridicule the sports teams of other posters. If you spent the same amount of time trying to learn syntax and spelling, you might be able to communicate far better and not appear the pitiful loser you really are, with no life outside of your losing Red Sux. Carry on, loser.

Just one more sip.

I'm didn't say anything negative about your wife or family. She's probably a lovely lady, I don't know what she's doing with NYC's biggest A-hole but that's another issue. You don't have very good comprehension skills do you? I'm just pointing out that someone in your position who's constantly boasting of the wonderful places you go, the fine wines you drink, and those amazing Yankees you love so much shouldn't be so friggin grumpy and such a jerk to so many people unless there's no love in your life. It's just not possible to be living a life as good as you constantly tell us you are and still be such a miserable prick.

I came here originally for the wine threads but what can I say, you have a certain charm about you that keeps me coming back to the sports pages too. I could be like you and come here to spread hate and misery to the rest of the forumites but one ageing grumpy loser is enough.

Might not be the best idea. All his browbeating, bullying and personal insults would eventually get his teeth/dentures knocked out in the real world instead of just having it thrown back at him.

That said, who'd you start in game 1 of the ALDS MWN? I'm leaning towards Lester after looking over their numbers this year, especially recently, but Beckett is the proven guy and comes up big in October. Trying to decide which of two legit aces to start is a nice problem for them to have I guess. Nobody else except maybe Philly has that issue. If Lester does well again tonight I say he definitely gets it. Better numbers, performs under pressure and a lefty can hold down the Angels running game better I hope because the Red Sox catchers couldn't throw Board-O racing to second in his wheelchair out lately.

Can't wait for the possible ALCS preview to start tonight. Sox/Yanks with grilled swordfish and Goldeneye pinot. Should be a great night.

Magic # is 3!

Just the uneducated loser shooting his mouth off again, as always. Good thing there are competitive sports teams in the Boston area to fill that gigantic void in his life. Too bad he knows nothing about wine, travel, and dining. Pitiful actually. His sole purpose here is ridicule the sports teams of other members. Now he shows himself to be a liar. Sad to have no life.

Just one more sip.

Liar? Umm, where? I've probably done more traveling than you also but keep shooting off your mouth about things you know nothing about. You probably have me on the wine and dining but I'm young and just beginning to enjoy the finer things in life. You're days of moving period are numbered and you're clearly bitter about it. Keep trashing me all you want, it obviously makes you feel better about yourself to put down others. I'll get the last laugh sooner or later.

You'll get it tonight when our vastly over-rated starter gets shelled. I feel fine about myself. You're the one who started putting other people down here. Add braggart to liar.

Must I banish you two from my thread? Eek

Anyway....the funny thing is that I expect this weekend to be relatively quiet. Both teams want to win, but neither really cares at this point, and are both looking ahead.

I kinda feel the same way.

You can take the night off, squidster. Barring some sort of an injury, Lester's going to easily outpitch our flash-in-the-pan. If Chamberlain makes the post season roster, it'll be long relief. Gaudin will be the 4th starter in the ALCS and WS if they get that far. He's good for 4-5 innings, then the coach turns into a pumpkin.

Just one more sip.

So much for Lester.

Sigh of relief on no injury, eh, boys? Your playoffs almost went bye-bye.

So much for ability to prognosticate. In my best Emily Litella voice, "Nevermind."

Don't go away quite yet, squidster. You may have to make a post here.

Just one more sip.

You have no idea. Fortunately it's just a bruise, now he can rest his arm for a bit, but why does stuff always have to happen when they play the Yankees?

I speak nothing but the truth, I don't know where you get this liar stuff from. I guess you can add retarded to your list of fine personal qualities. You've been putting people down since long before I ever knew this place existed, never mind joined. Oh, and don't look now but Papi's back.

What's up with him? I was reading his bizzaro quotes today (not the least of which is speaking about himself in the third person)"This team needs Papi to win" (who says this even in the first person?) "what Papi's been doing through the years.." Strange.

Very strange indeed. When asked what the secret was to his resurgence he said he couldn't tell the guy. When he's right he loves to smile joke and have fun (think the anti-BO) so maybe he was just joking around. He's been the old Papi since June and whatever it is I'm glad he's back. If they're going to get by the Yankees they need all the big bats they can get and he should do great with that short porch in right there. Of course if they can't teach at least one of their catchers to throw they might not make it that far. Sad showing by Tek tonight. He's lost it and they know it.

Boston: Takin' a beatin': that's 1

Ok....
