Sad news. Loved him in Point Break and Road House.

Always seemed like a very personable guy. Unfortunate when it happens to one of the good ones.

Hope he can turn this around or at least for a while.

What I'm surprised at is not that 55 is old, but I had no idea he was that old. I'm 41 and saw him as contemporary to me. In the Outsiders, he was over 30 years old? I'm pretty shocked by that actually.

I lost an uncle to this disease. The prognosis for living past 5 years is only 5%. I wish him the best.

Ironic that Jeff Healy past away last week. They were both in "Road House" (the best B movie of all time)

Truly sad. One of the more likeable personalities in cinema.

Good grief TBird, the acting isn't *that* bad.

I also hear that the prognosis is not as serious as reputable publications like the NY Post and National Enquirer would like us to believe. Regardless, I hope that he is able to fully recover. Just like WW, I lost an uncle to this particular cancer 12 years ago.

Regarding memorable Swayze moments, his SNL skit with Farley - Chippendale Dancer auditions - is a true classic!

My best to him and his family.

I have a Swayze story (kind of) to share. Somewhere around 1996 or so, I was driving near Santa Cruz (41st st exit off 101), and saw a newish red Nissan 300Z with the CA plate: PSWAYZE. I thought, cool, and while the car was nice and looked fast, I wondered if Patrick might be in a nicer whip. As I pulled up behind him at the stoplight, I noticed a custom license plate frame that read: No, but I Dance Dirty!

Har, har, har! Definately a groaner, and I always wondered who the poseur was.

I hope he makes it through this. I always admired what great hair and build he had. All the actors in the outsiders were uber cool looking. Razz
