Let him play another year. Just another chance for the Bears to take his head off.
Whole thing looks bad but don't forget how EVERYONE (media, fans, Packers) jumped on him to make a decision quickly this time. So he did, and he made the wrong one. Usually he would wait until around training camp...

I completely agree, what is really dissapointing for most people is I think they thought Favre was somehow different or better than that. Personally I'm not a Packers/Favre fan so I don't really care what happens to him, I just think he looks like a douche who's severely tarnished his reputation in the eyes of many sports fans.
Favre is different. Employee / Employer is not really applicable as the Packers are a community owned team. Tell me what player do you associate more with the Packers community than Favre? The Packers should not just give him away of course but Favre is not your average NFL employed player. He has given the Packers PLENTY over the years. He made a mistake and handled this whole thing poorly, but lets not act like the Packers did not ride his health and performance for years.
I can't say I disagree with anything you said, my comments are strictly on the last part of your post, the absolutely god awful way he has and continues to handle the process. I can honestly say that I feel bad for Packers fans, they don't deserve this.

MiamiAtty: I have been reading rumors/reports that Farve to the Dolphins has some some legs. Is this true and have you heard anything else? I can't understand why we would want to do this, but whatever.
Any insight is appreciated. I haven't been following this story very much.

On a side note, one of guys I fished with in Alaska was a really nice kid named Gabe. I let him stay at my home a few times while he passed through to fish the Keys. Before he left I gave him 1/2 case of assorted bubbly and wine (nothing great) to take up to Alaska (It's a remote, "dry" village and he'll be there guiding when I get there). Well, a week ago he sends me a bunch of pics of he and Czonka catching huge kings. Gabe told him about this Dolphinatic he stayed with in Miami, and how glad he was that The Perfect Season was still alive etc. I ask Gabe, did you bust out the bubbly from Miami to toast??!! Gabe says..."I forgot". ARRGH!
Send me your email and I'll send you the pics if you like.
Thanks for the info. That's funny about your guide friend. Would love to see the pics: wbkeene@mac.com We'll see what happens with Favre. I agree that it would be weird seeing him in a Dolphins uniform. I am thinking that we need to develop one of young guys. As for my personal opinion, I am pulling for Beck. Seems like a good guy and really eager to prove himself. He certainly seems smarter than McClown. The guy almost lopped his finger off chopping wood with his brother Looking forward to the competition. Thanks again.

In the quotes I have heard from recent interviews with Favre, he stated that the Packers did not want him back AND the Packers could NOT see him playing for anyone else. He also stated they wanted him to make a statement in March.
If your company gave you a similar ultimatum, what would you do? If you had the chance to earn 10 million plus for one year, would you take that opportunity? Sometimes ego does not factor into your decision when one is talking about 10 million plus for one year. And yes, anything is possible in the way of injury but Brett is not exactly injury prone.
Seems to be one of those scenarios that just when you think it couldn't get any worse, it gets worse. PR nightmare in many aspects.

Favre truly has no shame. He is starting to look like a mercenary. No class, and totally narcissistic. Hi, I'm Brett Favre and I'm bigger than the team. He has held the team hostage for several years. He has ONE Super Bowl, congratulations, now... GO AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He has had his time of greatness. He is a first ballot Hall of Famer. Favre just needs to give it up already, I used to respect him but what he has done to completely disrupt the Packers team when they were all set on Aaron Rodgers at QB shows how Brett is all about himself and screw the team. Ol Brett wants to pad his stats some more. I am no Packer fan, but the way Favre has been is very wrong. If he should force his way in to starting, I really hope some defensive players knocks him out for the year with a massive hit. The job should be Rodgers. Screw Favre. Retire gramps.

Why would they do this? Why would they let him go to a team in their own division? Why shouldn't they get something back in return? His rights belong to the Packers. Period. If he doesn't want to operate on their terms, then retire. The feelings of entitlement by today's athletes are completely absurd....

Okay Dom'n'Vin's Dad. I'm trying to play nice. I assume your question is rhetorical based on the person you responded to... right?
