All we need is a proven quarterback to go with our great running game and improved defense since we signed Jarrod Allen. I hope the packers give him his release so we have a shot at signing him. Go vikings!

His Team still went 13 wins and three loses last year and had home field for the nfc championship game. I admit he did melt down against the giants but he would be playing in the metrodome inside if they could win the division and get at least one home field game rather than playing in 10 below wind chill like he did last year in green bay. What has Tony Romo done the last two years?

All "we" need? Were you drafted this year by the purple people eaters? What round?
You're crazy if you think the Vikings #1 will allow Favre to go to a division rival, much less a HATED division rival like MN, #2 will be competitive with Tavaris Jackson at QB. Adrian Peterson may have had a good season last year, but that was LAST year. He ain't sneakin up on anybody this year.
As the great Jerry Glanville said so eloquently, the NFL stands for NOT FOR LONG, and that's how long the Vikings will be in contention this year.

The Bucs will outspend the Vikings to get him..if it comes down to it....hell why don't we just include a QB nursing home slash football opportunity program!!
You have to admit, Garcia and Farve would make quite a pair!
Brett Favre should just make up his mind is he finally done or does he want to play more. He is as old as dirt but he still has a rocket for an arm and still can play at a high level. Either quit or say you're going to play another couple years.
Tony Romo. I have seen enough of him. Excellent arm strength and accuracy but he is a female celeb away from completely losing his head in games. The talent is there though.
That leaves us with Big Ben, the most underrated QB in the NFL. Great arm, threw over 30 TD passes last year to set the Steelers TD pass record and all that behind a bad OL and injured WRs. Now just imagine if Ben has a better line and the WR corp improves. No other QB has the physical strength Ben does. No other QB can break tackles like he does or even overpower defensive linemen like Ben can.
Ok well back to Favre, make up your mind, are you done or staying. Quit this **** already.
I love the Vikings this year. The defense is ridiculous, they added Jared Allen - so not only will they stuff your run game, now they won't give you time to pass, either. They have the best player in the league, an accurate and athletic QB, and as good an offensive line as you'll find anywhere. 11-5 is a LOCK.
I loved Favre, until he started pulling this nonsense every offseason. Hard to root for him when he acts like spoiled brat when he does not get what he wants. What the hell is Green Bay supposed to do? Crawl on hands and knees begging and pleading for Favre to come back?
Big Ben is the worlds slowest QB. He needs a good offensive line to be effective (yes most Qb's do, but he NEEDS it). He doesn't have anywhere near Marino's release or reads, but who does?

Vince Young...his best days were in college. He is quickly fading away in the NFL.
What? How do you quickly fade when you are 25 and have 2 seasons under your belt as a starter? QB's are hardly the quickest developing position in the NFL.

After a promising first season, VY had a big downturn last year. Sure, you could blame it on multiple factors that were out of his control. However, what I saw was a QB that made poor decisions, had serious accuracy issues, and often looked as though he did not want to be on the field. Perhaps he will surprise me this year?

What I saw last year -was a QB who carried his entire f@*&$*&g team. His OL was worthless, his RB is out of shape, he did not have one marquee receiver and his defense didn't give him a lot of time to recover on sidelines. All said - I think he had a hell of a year. Give him another couple of years
but back to the original statement - Young has more than the physical strength that Big "I eat SUVs with my face" Ben has, Young broke more tackles just trying to get back to the line of scrimmage than Ben did all season and Young ran over more defensive lineman than Ben did (and safetys for that matter).

So does Trent Dilfer. It is a team sport after all!

I'm so glad you mentioned that! Did Elway suddenly become great his 12th and 13th year in the NFL?? Well, that's when he got his rings (thanx to T.D.). When people start realizing that one man, no matter how skilled, can carry a team to the Promise land, then, and only then will we stop hearing that moronic "ring" comment.

Yes, but I would submit to you that the Steelers won a championship, in large part, thanks to the play of Rothlisberger. The Ravens, on the other hand, won a championship in spite of Dilfer. He played one season with the team; his stats: 9 TDs, 17 Ints.
I believe that Rothlisberger has many very good years ahead of him.

Elway made it to the Superbowl w/o Terrell Davis, and multiple talented receivers, he just couldn't close the deal.

How about those Giants...being a big Giants fan I have to say the much maligned Eli Manning stepped up and showed he can be a great quarterback last year. Yet with out the entire team which as a whole all stepped it up down the stretch, with the defense leading the charge. Eli would mot even had mattered. Quaterbacks may inspire a team, just don't think they can carry them. Retire with honor Brett you don't need the money or the pain!

This was on ProfootballTalk, so take with at least a pound of salt, but Ted Thompson is now saying that he may consider letting Brett come back and compete for the starting job. What a gigantic mess this is becoming.
