If you don’t know who he was click here and here. This was a man of immense talent, unlike the pseudo celebrities that are fawned over by the press. A great and positive influence in many peoples lives.

Wow, this is quite the pull. I actually met the guy once during a work day, would have been 1994 or 1995, don't remember much about him, other than he was described to me as the "awesome cabinet guy from down the coast." RIP.

The company I currently work with sells to many furniture craftsmen. Seems to be a declining area in art vs. production although the California College of Arts has a furniture class for first year students who produce some exceptional tables for students who some have never used a mechanical tool, some truly great designs. Many can make furniture or cabinets. Few can make exceptional furniture or cabinets.
Craftsmen in wood products along with many other types of products are to be appreciated for their work. I am in the process of making my first table and finding I am in way over my head and thankful for the guidance of some friends in the business.
Good luck with your table Juicy. Don't be intimidated by the work of masters of the ilk of Krenov. That's always one of my biggest problems, after seeing what can be done I never think my work is good enough.
