Great game tonight, particularly from both goalies. Glad the Wings pulled it off tonight to avoid too much rest for the Pens.

Now I get to miss the Finals since I will be in Italy on honeymoon for 2 weeks. I'm not sure I can / want to convince the new wife to find somewhere that would actually allow me to watch the game.

I don't think half the U.S. gets NHL games, let alone Italy. Good luck though and congrats on the marriage.

The 2 a.m. start times in Italy do not look too good...I love the Wings, but that is a bit too much for me. I'll have to track results on the internet as I get the chance.

Wow!

Abdelkader livin' the dream! A young kid from Michigan gets called up from the minors to play for the wings in the cup finals to replace injured stars--and has 2 goals in 2 games!

(Sydney who?)

And a couple of good bounces didn't hurt, either. Wink

Go Wings!!!

He is living the dream - and he's got a cool name too.

By the way, it's Sidney, not Sydney.

Entertaining game to watch.

Bez is correct - the too many men on the ice for the Pens should have been called. They had six players in the offensive zone for an extended time. How do you miss that?

Wow, the wings sure looked beat tonite. And on the flipside, those penguins did look electric.

Back to the Joe, it is soo hard to win at the Joe (for all players not in red). I think this series might go down to home games.

Thus the old saying that "the series doesn't begin until the home team loses a game."

If Detroit holds serve, they repeat as champs.

That shortie by Staal might be the key goal in this series. What a fantastic effort to put the defenseman on his hip, get the puck to his forehand and instantly sweep it stick-side just inside the post. Momentum irretrievably shifted to the Pens after that point.

Not fancy, but by my definition, a beautiful goal.

Cheers,

Otis

This is good stuff. Who will crack first? Can it do anything but come down to a game seven?

Echoing everyone else- what a great series this is turning into. The pens looked young, powerful, and fearless last night while the Wings looked old and tired and played a little scared through the middle of the 3rd.

I'm most sad about the fact that hockey is almost over for a while. I usually find myself staring at a blank TV screen through much of July, hoping a hockey game will appear.

Not looking good for next year either.

Game 6 tonight. Here's hoping that we get a game 7. Whatever happens tonight, I just hope its a better game than game 5 was last Saturday night.
