11:27 pm. What did you do, go straight from the TV set to the computer to post that? Big Grin The important thing is they went further than the Habs. At least that's what I'm trying to convince myself. I had a bad feeling about the overtime. The Bruins historical record of 7th games sucked and it's even worse now.

No, I ran around jumping, whooping, and cheering. Then I went straight to my computer to post it. Big Grin

Big Grin All are welcome, but I'm not sure it will be enough. I was really hoping someone would knock out the Wings so that the Hawks wouldn't have to play them.

As a Hawks fan, I'm sure the Hawks are going to kick Redwing ass. However, as a realist, I'm not holding my breath waiting for a series victory. I believe it's possible, but the puck would have to bounce right for it to happen. I just hope the Hawks show well - it could be an epic series.

Its true, the Redwings are ridiculously stacked: Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Franzen, Hossa, Lidstrom, Cleary. With that said, after seeing the Hawks skate all around the Canucks I wouldn't say it's impossible, but as you mentioned Sharp, Kane, etc are going to have to play the best hockey of their lives and get a few bounces.

Well the Bruins broke my heart again last night but it has still been a successful season for Bruins fans (if not AS successful as we would have liked) because not only did the Bs do better than the Hated Habs, they kicked their butts in 4 straight games. I enjoyed that almost as much as I would have enjoyed the Bruins winning the Cup without playing Montreal! Big Grin

So I guess the only remaining issues, for Steve8 and I at least, are when are going to get our payoffs from our bet with the Grossie boys, and will they be worth having (BirD, feel free to get mine at BBR!) or will they try to stiff us with some swill from, oh, I don't know, the Eastern Townships perhaps? Eek Razz Big Grin

It's nice to see the Bruins relevant around here again but I had higher hopes for this team. Fortunately they're young and they'll be around for years to come now. Their power play looked terrible in regulation but they seemed to have it things going in the OT. Then the douchebag who should have been suspended and not even in the game ended that. What a way to go.

It was enjoyable, but I wouldn't go that far

I think it was for wine, but I'm not sure. One of us should go dig up the posts to figure it out.

To bez and Redhawk and the rest of you Detroit fans, I think Carnac the Magnificent said it best when he said "May the fleas from 1000 camels infest your armpits"

Here come the Hawks, the mighty Blackhawks....

I did already. I linked to it on page 16 of this thread. My post near the bottom of the page. It's not crystal clear, but it sounded like dinner to me. Although I certainly have no problem with wine, as long as the bottle is chosen respectfully. Big Grin

Very entertaining game, albeit sloppy at times. Nice to see the Wings pull through and look like a much better team for most of the game, despite a couple points at the begining of the first two periods where it didn't look that good. Still hope the Datsyuk / Hossa line can start getting some points pretty soon, though.

Ugh. That was bad. Habby has to stop those first 2 goals, although everyone has to play better in front of him as well. This team has been very resilient so far in the playoffs. Hopefully that continues.

Turns out it was loser picks up the winners' tabs at the next offline. If BirD crosses the pond for the CDP, the bet could be settled then. Looks like we'll be in Chicago for 2 or 3 nights, maybe longer.

Ah Geez...the Western Final has me torn.
As a kid, back at the end of the Original Six days, Chicago and Detroit were my favs (along with Boston).
I have somewhat kept those alliances all these years.
I'm leaning to the 'Hawks only because they haven't won anything the longest.

No being torn here.

I don't want any of them to win.

All I want is to see some exciting playoff hockey....

I think that's redundant. It's always exciting.

Malkin's third goal last night was insane. It looks like a Pens/Wings final is in the cards.
