In all seriousness Ice, I think he hurt himself in the fight with Getzlaf. If you watched him skate to the box, he was very clearly favoring his left hand or wrist....

In all seriousness I believe you're right. I remember thinking that also when I saw it. He'll have to do more surfing than golfing I guess Wink

I'm glad the Ducks got the win but I can not be proud of it. The wings were robbed of a goal and clearly controlled the game past 2/3 of the second period.

It is nice having a hot goalie and a break, but if the Ducks don't step up their game on offense I don't feel confident about the rest of the series. Getting outshot 2 to 1 may catch up, but then again, they won a cup playing this way.

The Canucks got back to playing their brand of hockey, capitalizing on their scoring chances while playing tough and stifling the talented Hawks. Needless to say Thursday is a huge game, no doubt Chicago will come out flying.

I think the tone of the Hawks game last night was set by the bogus goaltender interference call against Byfuglien. If he doesn't get cross-checked from behind, he doesn't touch Luongo.

Regardless, the Hawks played poorly and gave little effort. This was the first time in the playoffs that Quenneville has been visibly upset with the team.

Hopefully, they respond on Thursday or this series is over.

I think this might have been his last season in San Jose....

Actually, what he had to say was very apropos. He said that Thorton was the best player on the team and he needed to play like it - in a few more words. He issued a challenge to Thornton, and Thornton kind of stepped up....

I agree with what he said having value however he should be the last one talking about players who should be playing better.

I disagree Sticky. He didn't play poorly. He did what the Sharks brought him in to do. Now we can argue whether that had merit or not, however....

That makes up for the bogus hooking call on Bieksa in Game 2 when Byfuglien decided to just fall on Luongo.

The basis of the outcome of the series is fairly clear - slow down the Hawks speedy and talented scorers and the Nucks will win. If the likes of Kane and Toews are allowed to receive stretch passes and go through the zone with speed they can light the Nucks up. I suspect game 4 will be a war.

I disagree with you disagreeing. I don't think Roenick is adding the value you would expect from a veteran of his stature. Mixing it up a little bit and making some passes is something a 4th line rookie can do.

You could make the argument Roenick is hurting the Sharks by taking a roster spot that should be used to give a future club talent NHL ice time and playoff experience.

I thought Roenick added a lot of value to the Sharks. I watched nearly every single regular season and playoff Sharks games this and last year and I really liked what Roenick brought to the game.

As a matter of fact, I think that Roenick is one of the few, if not only, "qualified" Sharks to call Joe out like that.

just my two cents

Only because he is a veteran, not due to his play.

I don't see what Roenick did that a prospect could not have done better, without declining.

Roenick did not bring what he was supposed to which was the experience, maturity, and leadership necessary to carry them to the cup.

The Canes are making the Bruins look slow. They can't get the puck out of their zone and keep a sustained attack going against these guys. They need to step it up, 19 a game against Ward isn't going to get the job done.

If the Canes can knock of the Bruins I think it will be the biggest upset of the playoffs. (Ducks vs. Sharks was an upset but the Ducks are clearly better than an 8 seed).

Obviously there's a ton of hockey to play but icewino is right, the Bruins look slow and lifeless, certainly nothing like the team that laid the boots to the Habs.

Brutal 5 minutes for Willie Mitchell, coughs up the game tying goal with 3 minutes left than leaves Ladd uncovered to tip in the winner in OT. The Nucks can never do anything easy, now its a best of three.

Glad to see Hossa get a couple tonight. Hope they can hang onto the big lead and get back to the Joe tied up.

The Habs had tee times reserved already and wanted nothing to do with the playoffs. Anyone would have looked good against them. The Bruins looked like crap tonight through the entire 3rd period, just when it counted the most. Go Canes!

Wow 3-1 Canes, did not see that one coming. Huge game tomorrow for the Nucks, good news that Bieksa is in.

Agreed. I wasn't able to watch the first 3 games of the series, but Carolina owned the game last night. Where the hell did Ryder and Kessel go?

Not just those guys. How about Lucic and Krejci. Chara is being manhandled and Thomas isn't looking like a Vezina finalist either.

They're all getting out hustled and out played. They were supposed to step it up and instead haven't even played to their potential, never mind raise their level. They must have got a pep talk from Joe Thornton. The Canes have 10 guys who have rings from a few years ago and they look like they've been there before. The Bruins look like they were just happy to beat Montreal and get to round 2. Time to step it up or step aside Boston.

That looked more like the Bruins team I've seen all year. Too bad the guy who sucker punched Ward after his flying elbow should be suspended, I'd like to see Lucic rearrange his face but I guess that will have to wait until game 7.

After laying an egg at home the Nucks are on the brink of elimination, the Hawks deserve a lot of credit but the Canucks have not played their 'A' game most of the series. I guess we find out tonight what they're made of.

I'm going to the Hawks/Canucks game tonight. Should be a doozy. Although I'm a Habs fan I'm firmly in the Hawks camp in the West.
