Of the shots on goal stats for the Sharks, four of the top five were defensemen. Setoguchi was the only forward. Half of the Sharks shots came from the blue line. Not good....

Matt Hunwick had to have his spleen removed today. Apparently it ruptured during a check the other night. Pretty big loss for the B's, one of their young up and commers done for at least the season now.
The sooner these dirtbag Canadien's go home for the season the better. They can't play on the Bruins level so they just go around trying to start fights, even with guys who are recovering from multiple concussions. I'm guessing Boy Georges didn't know Bergeron had such a good left.
The Bruins really impressed me tonight, they played hard and tough hockey while keeping their composure and avoiding most of the bait. If that's the best the Hab's have even the homer ref's in Montreal won't be able to save this team.
Classy fans up there in Montreal. First they boo tha American national anthem then boo their team for much of the game. I can't wait 'til the B's finish them off.

I didnt see the game, but your wish will most likely come true Wednesday, the Bruins apparently just have too much for the Habs this year
I hate to count my chickens before they hatch but it does look like they can make a serious push this year with their mix of young talent and veterans. Lucic is the heart of their physical play and he'll be back tomorrow after he stupidly took the bait the other night. I'm sure they were coached not to but at that point in the game I guess he just couldn't resist.
Now that was an NHL playoff game!! Great intensity, lots of hitting, lots of drama. Nabby still needs to improve his save percentage - big time. Maybe Hiller is coming back to earth....

I only caught the first period (Damn these late night west coast games) but I had a feeling SJ was going to win that one. The Ducks were REALLY sloppy with the puck. Pretty intense though, seemed like someone was almost always on the powerplay or 4 on 4 for what I saw of the game. I didn't think they'd go down without a fight.

Yeah he let in a few soft ones last night, typically the Sharks could overcome that but Hiller has been quite good to date. I don't see this series not going to 7.

It is not just that - and you are absolutely correct - but Nabby has to make the big, game changing saves as well. He hasn't really done that so far. Hell, he even kicked one in himself last night....

DVD - that kick in was pretty brutal, it's one think to get fooled by a bank shot on a wrap around but there is no way he should have came out of the butterfly with the puck in front of him like that.
On a bad goal note, I did feel bad for the Blues' Chris Mason letting the soft one in with 19 seconds left of the first OT period, while it gave the Nucks the series he stood on his head almost every game so he didn't deserve to go out like that. In any event with the young talent the Blues have they will be back next year, the playoff experience is going to mean a lot to their young starts (see the Hawks).

Bruins did a great job keeping their composure tonight. Montreal tried to start every chance they got and the refs let them get away with a lot of BS after whistles. Clearly Julien told them not to fall for it. Thornton was just shaking his head, he really wanted to go at it a few times. Then Komisarick got his glass jaw beat in and goes with a cheap shot to try and feel better about himself. I'd like to say it's too bad he can't be suspended for a game like Lucic was but I'm glad their season is finished. I might actually like them less than the Yankee's if that's possible. It's been a long ten years since the B's have moved on, I'm shocked that it's probably going to be against the Rangers.
Congrats to Bruins fans, as much as I do not like the Bruins they most certainly deserved to win.
I feel bad for Price in last nights game (only watched 2 periods) because he really had no chance on 2 or 3 of those goals as his teammates let him down. The crowd wasnt terribly supportive unfortunately. I would be curious to hear his response to his reaction when they cheered and he raised his arms in the air.
Anyway, good luck to the B's, I have alot of friends to answer to now....

He was probably waving goodbye. The Habs ship a lot of young goalies out of town if they don't perform other worldly don't they. I can't see him gaining much support after this series.

I hear what you're saying marcb, but I have a tough time feelings sympathetic for Price. True he's a young goalie, but he's cocky and has a pretty big chip on his shoulder, all well and fine if you perform, but this is 2 playoffs in a row where he simply has not made the big save. In fact you may recall last year when the Bruins upset the Habs it was as if Price did not even know how to use his trapper.
Anyways it seems pretty clear to me that the road to the Cup is going to go through Boston. I remember watching Lucic play for the Vancouver Giants, everyone loved him because he was a hometown boy and he was never afraid to get his hands dirty, and I knew he was going to contribute at the NHL level, but I have to say I'm pleasantly suprised what a dominant force he's become so soon in his career.

Huh? Didn't the Habs beat Boston and then go on to lose to the Flyers in the next round?
Price is hardly to blame for losing a series 4-0. The Habs fans were their typical classless selves by cheering when he stopped that easy shot, but the kid should have ignored that. He will be traded in the off season along with half of the team.
In the Habs defense, they did have a lot of key injuries, but that might have just extended the series a little longer. The result would have been the same.
I haven't seen any local headlines yet today, but I won't be surprised if there is pissing and moaning about Kessel being offside.
Now...Paging Grossie and BirDungy, Bman and I look forward to getting together with you guys next.
