Well the Hawks v. Sharks game last night was at least entertaining. Glad the Hawks got the extra point in the shootout, but they should have been able to hold a 3 goal lead, or a 2 goal lead with 5 minutes to play. The tying goal by Thornton was pretty nice.

New Jersey on Friday.

Entertaining? Yes. Lots of end to end action, with lots of hitting, and lots of goals.

Worrisome? Yes. The Sharks have developed this very bad habit of allowing the first goal of the game, and often it is very early in the first period.

Gabby had two goals last night and seems to be skating well. I hope the wild can scrap their way into the last playoff spot but they need alot of help.

Nice three minutes....

The Sharks need to get healthy (10 players injury scratched last night!!) and Nabby needs to get back on his game for the Sharks to have any chance to go deep into the playoffs.....

mwguy/MoL,
Reminiscing about the glory days ala Willie Plett- Dino Cicarelli, when guys not only had the finesse of a Gaborik but also the tough guy mentality!

Willie Plett and the no helmut. And remember Dino getting his morning newspaper in a robe with nothing on underneath - flashing the neighbors.

Looks like the Nucks and Hawks have a good hate going on, looks like a potentially great playoff series.

Too little, too late for the Hawks yesterday. I guess they were just trying to send a message with the brawl in the 3rd. You had to figure it would be tough to knock off San Jose, New Jersey and Vancouver in a row. I'll take 2 out of 3 in that stretch.

I still think Vancouver is going to overtake Calgary for the 3rd spot - making it Chicago v. Calgary in the playoffs. Either way, I'm just glad we're talking about playoffs in Chicago again.

I think you're probably right lostverse, the Flames have been looking shaky for a while now, particularly Kipper.

Okay, I youtubed it. The Eager fight was good, and Keith had his hair pulled a whole lot.

After the second go around, it looked like there were more Hawks in the box than on the bench....

At one point, there were 5 Hawks in the box, and 3 additional Hawks that had been sent to the locker room.

I loved the comment from the Nuck's coach, saying that "boys will be boys." Maybe he should tell that to the guy that was pulling Keith's hair like a little girl.

Yeah that was not one of Burrow's better moments. It was unfortuntate for the Nucks that a semi line brawl broke out and both the Sedins and Burrows were out there. The guy that was holding on to O'Brien for dear life should be thankful that he was too busy trying to get at the guys chirping at the Sedins to finish him off.

A nice grind it out win by the under-manned Sharks last night. Nabby looked good. Let's hope it is a sign of things to come....

The Nucks can thank the Sharks for taking out the Flames last night, in regulation!

Canucks won an ugly one last night in OT against the Wild, the third period was one of only five times in the Canucks history where they did not register a single shot on goal.

I'd like Vancouver to stay right where they are in the standings at 3rd. That would cause a likely match up between the Hawks and Flames in the first round of the playoffs. The Hawks owned the Flames this year going 4-0 in the season series, outscoring them 19-7.

Of course, if the defense doesn't do a better job of keeping the puck out of their own net, the Hawks won't have to worry about playing anyone in the playoffs.

Big game against St. Louis tonight. The Hawks have not played well against the Blues, going 0-4-1 this year. That better change tonight. The Hawks still need points to clinch a playoff spot.

That's going to be a tough matchup, the Blues have been playing some darn good hockey of late.

If the Hawks play like they did last night against the Blues, they will be fine. They still need 1 point in their last 6 games to clinch a playoff spot.
