The Bruins aren't alone. It seems that many of the teams near the top of their respective conferences are in a bit of a slump. With the exception of Detroit and New Jersey, the top 4 in each conference are barely above .500 in their last 10 games.

The Hawks are in a 5-4-1 stretch, having lost 2 in a row, and run into one of the hottest teams in the league tonight hosting Carolina. Carolina is 8-2 in their last 10 games and is riding a 4 game winning streak.

The Hawks are not going to make it easy on us heading towards the finish.

Thank God! Not that I think home ice makes a big difference to good teams (but until the Bruins have gotten through a couple of rounds of the playoffs, I'll reserve judgement on that tag), but I'd still rather the Bs have it. If memory serves, the top-ranked teams have gone far in the playoffs the past few years.

Now, if we can just get those Hated Habs to flame out and miss the post-season party altogether..... Cool Cool Cool

How about a reaction from a Bruins fan? I would laugh even harder except that Boston is playing as badly as Montreal recently.

Maybe it's not too late to fire our coach too, it wouldn't be the first time Claude has been canned right before the playoffs. But seriously I just hope he doesn't lose these guys and they can get back into a groove. They need their offense back and I don't want to see Fernandez in goal again unless it's to give Thomas a much needed rest. He was horrible the other night when they lost in NY. Clearly he's no longer with the program. I thought he'd still be really sharp with free agency looming for him but obviously he's not.

What the hell is going on with the Hawks? They've lost to the two last place teams from each conference in the last week. Now they get to go to the Devils in NJ where Brodeur is likely to set the record for most wins by a goalie, breaking Roy's previous record.

A good, grind it out win by the Sharks last night (and Saturday too!). Nice to see Nabby back between the pipes and on his game....

I hope not. The Bruins are now only 6 points ahead of the Devils, who have 3 in hand. Frown

Hawks are looking shaky and the Nucks are only two point back in what could be a chase for home ice advantage between the two in the playoffs. Its still early but I think that would be a great series.

I think the Nucks have a chance to catch the Flames to win the division. They're only 5 points back with a game in hand.

I think the Hawks will pull out of this tailspin soon. Khabbi is back, Pahlsson is going to finally play on 3/18 and Sharp is expected back next week. Although they play the Devils tonight, I think the bigger game is tomorrow night against the Blue Jackets. The conference games are huge heading down the stretch.

My wild are dead. Gaborik wont even lace up the rest of the season. I dont know why we cant field a good team even though we sell out every game and we are the state of hockey.

So Brodeur breaks the all time win record, the all time shutout will fall soon enough, even if it's not until early next season. We're fortunate to be able to watch one of the greatest of all time.

Insert choking face here.

Man I hope the Bruins get a fire lit under them somehow. They are, or were, way to complacent with their point lead.

As I thought, the Hawks lost last night to the Devils. If they lose tonight to the Blue Jackets, I will need to be talked off the ledge.

Well get off that ledge. The blue jackets are real - I guess. They've beat some good teams this year. They will get bounced in the 1st round though.

At least the Hawks got it into overtime to get 1 point. I guess I've got one foot on the ledge and one inside the window. I hope they're gaining valuable experience during this rough patch.

Thanks DVD - hot damn that was a beat down! As mentioned I'm not a Tootoo fan, but you've got to give him props for staying upright after taking all those shots. But yeah, that was pretty much as one sided a fight as you'll ever see.

You are welcome, Dunder!

A good win by the Sharks, although Dallas certainly took it to them for the first half of the first period. I was a bit surprised that there wasn't a little more chippiness. Hopefully Blake and Goc are okay....

About damn time the Hawks played a decent game again. Sharp was out for 16 games and the Hawks were 6-8-2 in that time. I guessed they missed him. He had two goals and an assist yesterday and they looked good again. Of course, it helps to get some decent goaltending again.

San Jose is coming into town on Wednesday DnVD. They've had some good games this year.

The DVR is set. The Sharks have been playing better these last few games, and now they are back on top of the point standings. Let's hope this road trip doesn't do them in....

Nice to see the B's get a win against a good team. Now we'll see if all this rest helps of hurts them.

Gabby finally came back and we are only a couple points out of the last playoff spot. It would be a bummer to have Nashville beat us out for the last spot.
