Seems like everyone wants to already give the cup to the Wings.

I would love nothing more than for the Wings and Ducks to meet up in the playoffs. The Ducks should be much improved with Selanne and Niedermayer not thinking they can take half the season off and still be in NHL shape.

Its only 1 game but I'm sure liking the new look Canucks, its amazing what adding a few guys who aren't afraid to throw does for a team's confidence.

I was a little skeptical (especially with Blake), but boy did those additions pan out last night. If they play like that all year, the new D-men will be a HUGE upgrade....

Blake is old, but he had a good year last year, and I wouldn't be surprised that, if he got the JR treatment (limited play) and he doesn't wear out, he could be just as good, if not better.

They sure did look good last nite and the power play was great!

I think so. I remember seeing him play in several games thinking he looked pretty good, especially for his age. He played for an awful team, yet was still able to put up decent numbers. I don't hold that +/- against him, he was with LA!

I've been a fan even when they've sucked. So I will happily and boastfully chime in with another "GO WINGS!!" for this season. Cool

Second that Redhawk. I remember the 80's and early 90's when I rarely missed a game and the Wings rarely won.....

They are going to be extremely strong and balanced again this year....the only bright spot Detroit has.

Dunder,

The canucks looked great Thrusday...but Calgary looked like piss. I was very skeptical of this team (especially with 10m still left to spend) but I think we have a decent young team thats exciting to watch which is the most important thing to me. Winning is great, but winning like the Wild used to win is boring to watch. Either way, should be a fun year.

Agreed godx, it seems that we have the same young speed and grit that the Oiler teams had 3-4 years ago, throw in Lou and hopfully we can make something happen this year. I guess we find out tonight if the opener was a one off.

Sat night vs the Flames, Canucks open the scoring early, then blow it and get down 3-1...if that happened last year, we wouldnt have come back. Naslund would have pouted and that game would have been over. It was nice to see them step up and come back for the win. This team is exciting to watch....Dunder, Edmonton is a great example. With Lou and our solid defensive line-up, this team should be fun to watch this year.

With every single Seattle team in the crapper this year, my full attention has headed up north.

As much as I liked Naslund, I'm quite happy to see him gone. He had been seriously under achieving the past couple years - and while it is only two games into the season, it seems like the Sedins are having fun again.

If Bernier plays with urgency every shift, he will be a good addition to the Canucks....
