While us Chicagoans have winning baseball to watch on both the Northside and Southside, I suspect most of you Mets, Yankee, Red Sox, Dodger, Giant, Mariner, Twin, Astro....loving Nancy Boys will be off to see the "Sex in the City" movie.

So, what wine goes with utter humiliation?

Or as Ditka would say, "Do yous have a wine fer dat?"

Far far too early for any gloating. Bump this in September if they're still for real.

I'm rooting for those Cubbies. After all, it would be nice if they won it all on the 100th anniversary of their last win. Big Grin Big Grin

Its not even June yet.

I think I just heard the Goat walk in and Ozzie curse at him...

Plus I don't think a true Chicagoan can root for both Cubs and Sox's.

If I was a Chicago Cubs fan I wouldn't start talking until October, if there still is anything to talk about. Then again, after 100 years of failure I suppose looking decent in May, 08 is about all you have to cheer for.

I think Wrigley Field is awesome by the way.

This Yankee fan will be drowning his sorrows in wine from a magnum of 1985 Hermitage, La Chapelle.

Just one more sip.

Cubs fan for 30 years. I have learned to enjoy the moment. Maybe this is the year! Got a foul ball there in 1989. Sat right below Harry Caray. Good times!

I'm a Cubs fan, I'm being cautious until it's all over. It's great that they're doing well, but we're two month into the season. A lot can happen.

Board-O, you even drown your sorrows in style.

RD Collins. I'm with you, Lakers in 5.

Darn, and what may I ask do you drink to celebrate?

You know Board-O, I also feel terrible about your team. Big Grin

Sorry, but the Cubs are just not built for post-season success as presently compiled. To win in the playoffs, you need 3 solid starters. After Z, who do you throw out there? Lilly - needs to get his curveball over to set up his 89-mph fastball. Do you feel confident about a pitcher like that getting the grip he needs in late October in Chicago? Dempster vs. Interleague: 6-9, 5.32 ERA, .462 vs SLG

You don't have a real center fielder, and you don't have any LH hitting. How long can Wood hold up as your closer? Who's behind him, Bobby Howry? Howry hasn't been a reliable closer since 1999, for the White Sox.

And to answer your question, I'll open up a 97 Paolo Scavino Carobric, to check on its' development. While my Red Sox sweep whoever they have to play in this WS.

You can't root for both the northside and the southside. You have to be one or the other. And it's early in the season. Ozzie and Lou will will have some melt downs sooner or later. If we finally figure out our pitching rotation my twins might be a pesky little team although I don't know if they can win 85 games this year and stay in contention. I'll probably be drinking sour grapes by the end of the year though. Razz

Why don't you ask any lifelong Cubs fan...or a Blackhawks fan...or a Bulls fan. They should have an answer for you.

Us losers are doing alright here in Boston with the Red Sox (current champs) the Celts (soon to be champs Big Grin) and Pats (I'd rather not discuss but they're pretty good too). Hell even the Bruins made the playoffs. Me thinks it'll be a long time before you have any claim to being title town.

As a lifelong Cubs fan, I can say that your lack of humility and grace is highly uncharacteristic of Cubs fans, and I might even say offensive.

Go Cubbies, though!
