I thought this was fantastic, but a lot of my friends were bored by it. Hope you enjoy it. You menionted Phillip Seymour Hoffman. I feel the same way about Daniel Day-Lewis. His performance in this movie is very impressive, and in my opinion, quite powerful.

Our last two have been stellar ( Elegy & Vicky,Christina Barcelona) and now looking for the trifecta. What does the forum recommend?

Saw Dark Knight at the movies. Well worth the money. Watched Lord Of War on Netflix. Surprisingly good movie. Also watched Green Fingers. Clive Owen and Helen Mirren; it was utterly predictable but fun.

Super Troopers had its moments. The maple syrup chugging scene for example. Last night I treated to the kids to back-to-back showings of Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventureand Bill and Ted's Bogus JourneyThe first was clearly superior.

I liked King of California, but I was shocked at how skinny and wasted Michael Douglas looked in it. I hope he just did that for the role.

I assume the look was for the roll, he fit it well. He really impressed me, I never really gave him credit but that was some acting. The girl was very good as well.

Damn fine film. I was surprised it didn't do better at the box office.

Saw "The Band's Visit" -- Story about an Egyptian police band lost in Israel. Largely in English, but when it switches to Hebrew or Arabic there are subtitles, of course. A wonderful movie....sentimental, funny, warm, clever. All wrapped into 90 minutes or so. Netflix. I recommend this.
