I'd like to revise my usually rock solid Winkpredictions for this year after seeing the Tigers play the Red Sox today. I know it's early but what a mess that squad is right now.
So you’re saying the Red Sox will take out the Red Sox in the ALCS? That’s a bold prediction Razz

As usual my predictions are perfect Big Grin

These are just the headlines I like to see going into a weekend series with the Yanks.
• Yanks can't help spotty Hughes in KC
• Shoulder pain may send Posada to DL
• Jeter out until Friday at earliest

Goin to a Giants game tonite. I certainly hope their pitching is able to keep things close like the last two games, without it, they don't stand a chance.

Woohoo 3 in a row for the G-men. Not that I think this will last, just don't know how many times that will happen this year Big Grin

Caught up after the Sharks game. I really like what they are doing for the postgame. "The Wrap" (which is normally a radio only thing) is being simulcast on the TV feed....

Three in a row? Five runs? Who woulda thunk?!?!?!?! Big Grin

Even though they have lost their last 2, it is good to see that the Giants are able to score runs.

Oh, and I think Bochy should take Durham out and put him out of his misery!

Funny thing at the game the other nite. It was late in the game and cold and windy. The vendor selling Dibs (small, bite-sized ice cream balls coated in chocolate), instead of his usual Dibs-Ice Cream pitch, said: "Diabetes in a can!! Who wants some freezing cold over-priced ice cream?" Big Grin

Nice breath of fresh air to see some humility from a vendor trying to sell ice cream on a freezing cold and windy San Franciscan nite.

Yeah yeah, I’m here and not happy. You will appreciate this…one of my best friends is a Giants fan and this was the first e-mail I received this morning:

“Guess who's not in last place in the west anymore??? We exploded for 7 runs last night!!! You guys almost won, so I guess I can say great job for 8 2/3 innings. Enjoy the cellar!!” Frown

Anybody watching the Yankee-Red Sux game tonight. Geez! 11-9 and it's not an official game yet. Pitching's not too good tonight.

I've been listening on the radio, three hours and it's only in the 6th inning. Pitching is lousy and both teams are throwing their mop up guys to the wolves. Defense isn't so hot either and the home plate ump drives me nuts with his late calls. I was watching earlier and Manny was half way to first before the guy called strike three. Somebody tell him it's not the Tim McLellan show and speed it up.

By the way your picture's not working. Was it of the Ortiz jersey they wasted money and time digging up? Is Hank really that nuts? Afraid of the curse of the Big Papi I guess. I hope somebody waits until opening day and tells him there's another one out there too.

I love that Tejada story on ESPN. He’s 33 instead of 31. I bet half of the Dominican guys in the bigs are older than what they say. Can’t blame the players though, they are just trying to make it. Teams need to do a little more due diligence when they sign these guys.

Yankee's suck! Yankee's suck!

Nice low rent no class move throwing behind Manny's head last night just because he hit a ball that hasn't landed yet. Is it his fault Musina cant sneak an 85 mph fastball by him? And where's Zimmer now to attack Farnsworth for throwing at someones head like he did to Pedro a few years ago? Farnsworth joins A-Rod and the rest of the no class overpaid has beens that is this years Yankee's team from managment/ownership on down. They're going nowhere this year with their pitching. The only Yank-me's I have any respect left for are Jeter, Musina and Rivera. Ahh, I can already taste the victory shiraz.

Too bad Farnsworth didn't hit him. With Farnsworth's control abilities, I wasn't surprised he missed.

The season's young wino. You think Big Pappy's knees are gonna hold up the rest of the year? You think Lester, Buckholz, and Wakefield scare any other teams other than the Twinkies?

Here are my early predictions for the Yankkes: 1) Chamberlain will be SP#4 after the all-star break; 2) Hawkins and Farnsworth will also be traded or released by July 31st; and 3) Yankees will trade for a stud pitcher by July 31st.

We'll see which teams will be folding like beach chairs at the end of September.

What/who are they going to trade? They could have had Santana. No bigger stud out there, but they weren't willing to pull the trigger on the deal.

Wakefield, Buckholz & Lester = Musina, Hughes & Kennedy. None of them put the fear of god into anyone but I'll take Beckett and Dice-K ove Wang and Pettit anyday. I don't think either team is going to fold either, their line-ups are just too good for the regular season to do that. Of course now that I said that they got spanked by Baltimore again.

Now it looks like their already suspect pitching staff will be short one chump for three days, not that he's a big loss.

Woooo Hooooo!!! How 'bout them Giants!!!! Big Grin
Given the situation, need to celebrate at every opportunity. Took the season's series from the Cardinals. Who's next?????? LOL

The Yanks will be watching the Giants as the Giants have pitching. Will be interesting to see what happens before the trade deadline. Just hope they package Durham with any pitcher that is dealt as we will have Omar back and Veliz can play second. If we are trading someone to the Yanks, I would like to see them PAY as their need for pitching is greater than our need for hitting, at least right now as we just won 8-2. Tomorrow is yet another adventure.

How about Zito for A-Rod, straight up? Both are having lousy years and A-Rod is hurt. Yeah, I know DVD, another pipe dream but just trying to plant seeds in case Sabean reads these threads. Big Grin Okay, we can throw Durham into the deal Big Grin Big Grin

Juicy, since you are willing to throw in Durham, the Yankees might as well throw in Jeter for you guys. If your dreaming, you might as well dream big Razz

Good to see the Dodgers finally hit the ball last night. A. Jones still looks lost at the plate. Jones and Pierre are making a combined $30M this year!!! Nice ROI. I think old buddy’s Colletti and Sabean are competing on who can get fired first.
