Oh I get it now, you're the only one on here allowed to write quick stupid blurbs and the rest of us should go get our own forum. Thanks for clearing that up for me. "I wouldn't bury the Angels just yet" (good call) and "I hate the Red Sox. I'm A Dodgers fan now" are standards I will strive to live up to when posting. I didn't have any Angel's nonsense in me to start with. I just wrote that the Sox own the Angels with 6 words about the rally monkey and ArieS jumped on it from there. A simple statement of fact, no personal insults and not directed at anyone in particular. ArieS got it started and Indy, ever the oportunist for a drive by personal shot, saw a chance to sling some rally monkey poo as he usually does and jumped into the mess, now you. Here's an idea for you three fun loving guys, have a drink, losen up and have a little fun here. Be mad at your teams for spitting the bit, not mad at me for pointing it out. |

It is a good thing you took a large % of my posts into account before coming to a conclusion. You kept going on and on attacking the Angels and their fans blah blah blah so if you want to keep it going, please do it somewhere else. I think everyone would like to get back to baseball rather than your nonsense. I still hate the Red Sox and I'm still rooting for the Dodgers now, unless that isn't ok with you. |

Everyone but you apparently. I'd like to get back to it myself if morons like you could just learn to read. Either you're retarded or english is you're second language because the rally monkey comment was the first and only thing I wrote that had anything to do with the Angels at all until ArieS flipped his wig about it and I never ever attacked their fans so I don't know where you came up with the stuff about me going on and on. It's all right there for you to read for yourself if you have that ability but I'm doubting you can or will based on your last post. You're entitled to your own opinion but not your own facts, next time don't show up at a battle of wits unarmed. |

FWIW, I have a rally monkey wearing an Angels shirt hanging in my classroom. Granted, it is hanging by a noose....

Thanks for setting me straight, your opinion carries great weight with me. So are you finished now? You sure you don't want to hurl some more insults at everyone? |

Tough loss last night for the Dodgers but a good all around game. When Hamels is on he can be really tough. How did Lidge become so cool under pressure, he never blows up like he did in Houston??? (jinx, jinx!!!)

What was up with Manny just standing there after his double? I know he thought it was a home run, but it was too close for him to be standing there posing. |

I agree, great game by Hamels. Pat Burrell has been the Phillies best home run hitter this post season.
Go Phillies. |

That's Manny being Manny, we got to take the good with the bad at this point. I thought that ball was going 500 feet off his bat, he killed that thing. “What is the soup du jour?"...It’s the soup of the day..."Mmmm, that sounds good, I’ll have that” - Lloyd Christmas |

Living near Boston the past years, I have gotten a chance to watch Manny up close. This is very typical behavior from Manny that has gotten him intentionally thrown at by other teams. Still hoping the Philles can bring it home being a displaced Pennsylvanian.

great game by both pitchers, and a costly error by Furcal... say what you want but it was the difference, better to be tied 2-2 then down 3-2. oh well, its a long series and that's really been the 1st mistake the Dodgers have made all post season and it was the difference between a potential win and a loss

I'm good for now. I only hurl them back, I didn't start it.
Like Glenn said, that's Manny being Manny. He loves to admire his homers and show up opposing pitchers. It isn't often that he hits one on the screws that doesn't go 450 feet but if they don't he sometimes only gets a single because he isn't running at all. Soon he'll stop running out ground balls, push down 64 year old secretaries and slap his own teamates. After he's finished refusing to visit the childrens cancer hospital with the rest of the team he'll fake injuries and refuse to play until he's traded because 20 million a year isn't enough. He's an amazing hitter but he's an a-hole and I love that McCarver is outing him every chance he gets and letting the country know what everyone out here already does. |

He is paid to play baseball. As long as he can do that at an incredible level I could care less if he isn't into extracurricular activities. These are professional athletes, not nuns. McCarver is not half the ball player Manny is. He is overly critical of everyone and wants attention. Anyone remember when he started this same type of critcism against Deion Sanders because he was playing baseball and football? "Norman Chad criticized McCarver in Sports Illustrated by saying that he's someone who "when you ask him the time, will tell you how a watch works," a reference to McCarver's supposed habit of over-analyzing." McCarver is what is known as a "hater." |

I agree about the extracurricular stuff, while it would be nice if they all did it to show some appreciation and gratitude for the fans who pay their salaries these guys aren't role models they're just atheletes. But pushing down a secretary because he can't get you enough tickets? Just because you're a hall of fame hitter doesn't give you that right. The guy's just a jerk.
After watching the fastball go 2 feet behind Manny I think this kid has some advice for Myers. Does that count as hating too? |

Domestic abuse is a serious issue and no laughing matter. Still, Manny pushing some guy is hardly beating kids or his spouse. Bonds was known to do things much more warranted for the label of an asshole. Manny has historically done the charity drives and fundraisers, if one day he does not want to do it, he should not have to do it. He also could be a giant asshole, but as long as he does the job he is paid for, it does not matter to me. |

Agree with that. Myers should have been locked up and banned from baseball. Not enough bad things can happen to him for my money and it's killing me to watch the Philly's win with him. |

Phillies go up 2-0 in the series with an 8 to 5 win. Timely hitting by Brett Myers, yes Brett Myers. The guy had three hits and 2 RBI in the game. He only had 4 hits all season. The Phillies got out in front and held on. A home run for Manny. Now off to L.A. on Sunday.

Typical wonderful nail biter tossed by Daisuke tonight. Maybe a rally monkey with a mowhawk and cow bell on would do some good for Tampa. They all appear useless on their own.

Your argument is so illogical, Sticky. When did Bonds ever knock a 64 year old club employee to the ground? When did Bonds physically abuse anybody - other than Jeff Kent in the dugout? And I am not saying that Bonds wasn't an asshole with people. He was - especially the media. The argument you use to justify Manny's job, should be applied to Bonds. If you don't Sticky, you are simply being hypocritical.... Romeo and Juliet are together in eternity.... |

Going to be tough for my Dodgers. Wish they could have pulled it out last night because this series could turn very interesting with the back and forth going on between Myers and Manny yesterday.

Absolutely, the argument should be applied to Bonds but I was not arguing that Manny or Bonds are angels (a pun!). I mentioned he potentially could be a jerk, but Bonds did abuse people. Abuse does not have to be physical, he was known to make racist comments and run the clubhouse his way so speak. Bonds also did get into physical altercations with Kent, we all know that. His wife also called the police after a physical altercation with him, this was quite publicized in the media. I don't mean to preach to you Dom'n'Vin'sDad but Bonds also had the police called on him when he physically abused his maid. He got into an argument with his housekeeper after a Giants game and as it escalated he grabbed her by the neck and threw her into a car and then down a set of stairs. So... there is a history of abuse, both physical and mental by Bonds. I think Bonds beating women is a bit worse than Manny getting pissed off at a club official for not giving Manny the perks he was used to getting by being a superstar. I don't see it as hypocritical nor illogical, I think I am being quite critical of both of them but I still don't see them as role models. They are professional athletes and I don't care what trouble they get themselves into. Performing on the field does not excuse that sort of behavior as it is illegal to begin with but I care about the job they are paid millions to do. The law can handle the rest and if they want to be jerks so be it. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Sticky2, |
