Now you're just being puerile. The Yankees have a record of excellence unmatched anywhere in the world of sports. Enjoy your 15 minutes. Roll Eyes

Just one more sip.

The Giants young pitching staff will be solid, as will their defense up the middle. That being said, if they average more than 2 1/2 runs a game, I will be amazed....

Yet no reference to the fact they are 0 for the last 7, still not commonplace. Try again.

26 in less than 100 years. That's more than one every four years. That's commonplace. Enjoy your 15 minutes and 3 in the last 90 years. That's one every 30 years. Losing at that rate is commonplace.

Just one more sip.

Purely semantics, but in my lifetime, they have only won once every 6.17 years and since 1980 once every 7 years and since they haven't won in 7 seasons, that avg isn't gonna go down. With the lineup they've had this decade, one could argue they have been the worst run, worst managed team over the last 7 years.

I'd take 3 every 90 years.

My prediction is that the Cubs will make it 100 straight seasons without a World Series championship this year.

The Red Sox have had more than 15 minutes of fame, they are after all one of the original franchises. The Yankee's have a great past, can't argue with that but unmatched in all of sports? Let's see...

Yankee's - 26 titles in 104 years of World Series, not too shabby 25%.

Celtics - 16 titles in 60 years of NBA Finals and looking good this year. Oh no, that's 26.7%.

Looks like the Yankees are actually in second to me.

26 title in 95 years=27.4% Care to post the numbers for the Red Sox? Big Grin

16 titles in 62 years=25.8%

Looks like your math skills are comparable to your football prognosticating skills.

I agree, semantics, although I would imagine that most people would agree with your interpretation. I certainly do.

No, my math skills are far superior to those. Apparently your's are not up to snuff with your wine tasting skills. My calculations are correct for the numbers I used, not the ones you substituted in there for me. Maybe my research skills are off, where'd you get your numbers? I get the first World Series was played in 1903, and although I know there have been a couple not played I don't get 2007 - 1903 equalling 95. Likewise the first NBA Finals was in 1947 and 2007 - 1947 doesn't equal 62 to me. Just curious as to where you got your facts?

Even so trust me, I wish the Sox had the winning past the Yankee's do. I'm just saying that the success of the Celtics, even with a lousy last 20 years, is on par with your Yank's no matter who's number's you take.

The numbers are the number of seasons each team has been in existence. My math is correct.

I never said your math was wrong, just your research. First, you cant win a World Series or the NBA Finals if they don't exist yet. I can see you still won't admit the Highlanders you loved as a child were actually the Yankee's, but the Yankee's disagree with you. I know you can read so check it out here on the official Yankee's site. They even got the pin stripes as the highlanders and the new owners simply changed the name. It was still the same personnel on the team. If you take a Grand Estates Merlot and change the label to Cheval Blanc what wine do actually you have there? To me, and to the Yankee's, the wine is still the same just a different name. If you disagree I have a case of Cheval Blanc I'd like to sell you.

Hmmm, who made the following quotes? Any guesses Wine Wiz?

-I'm not jumping ship because adversity has come to town. This team will win the Wild Card and make it to the 2007 WS. Write it down!!

-The Yankees will win the 2007 World Series!!!! They are just warming up!!! I'll have the last laugh here.

-When you pour cream into a cup of
coffee..it always rises to the top. The Yanks are that metaphorical cream.

-You can't say the Yanks will not score moe than 4 runs in any game, even against CC and Carmona. Remember the Yanks have the best line up in baseball, statistics back it up. They just have not shown it in this series or in any other playoff series in the last 5 years .

You've got some nerve to jump on me about the Pats, find every quote I made, repost them, attack me and call me arrogant you hypocrite. I thought I'd repay the favor. I can't wait for the season to start now, I can enjoy the Sox games that much more.

Sounds like somebody's obsessed with the Wiz.

By the way, congratulations to the Mariners' fans. You've got quite a 1-2 at the top of your rotation now. Think you can take the Angels?

Just one more sip.

Yes I'm doing my own bit of stalking Board-O, you should be familiar with that. Just wanted to know who I was arguing with and after further review I am ashamed I let the tool get under my skin. Lesson learned. I went back and read his early posts and never had a more pompous, arrogant liar written words on this board. They're good for a laugh but what a loser.

I hear Petit had to be given a few extra days to report. This Clemens thing isn't going to damage his fragile psyche is it?

Apparently he already knows where to find him if needed. And the best news, they STILL don't test for HGH.

Don't sleep on the Dodgers. We got rid of Grady Little. Added Andrew Jones and have one of the best pitching staffs in Baseball.

That, and the fact that all of our young guys have another year under the belt. Watch out!

Apparently you have not heard of the Montreal Canadians.
