I'm going to Yankee Stadium on Sunday and Monday. I thought these games would be meaningful. Frown

They will be. They'll be helping the Sox clinch the AL East and me win my bottle of shiraz from Wine Wiz. Thanks in advance.

I have no problem with Girardi, with the exception that now that they're virtually eliminated, the team is mailing it in.

Just one more sip.

Ray’s made a huge statement last night coming back against Papelbon. Dodgers pulled it out late to take a 2.5 game lead against the D-Backs. Delgado was huge again for the Mets. It’s shaping up for a fun September.

Yeah, but the White Sox have a series next week with the Yankees. I'll be at one of the games and maybe get to see the Yankees eliminated from playoff contention for the first time in 15 years. Ugh

Just one more sip.

Actually, if it happens Sunday, I will be opening a few nice bottles. There's a wine dinner after the game. I'll also be at Monday's funeral game.

Just one more sip.

I am surprised at how little talk there is about the Angels. If the Yankees were playing anywhere near the Angels level we would never hear the end of it.

I work not to far from the stadium and get offered tickets all the time to Angel games but rarely go. There is just something boring about the Angels to me. I guess it goes back to when I was a kid and the Angels were so bad for so long I just looked at them like I looked at the Clippers. 2nd billing to the big LA team. Obviously the Angels have been better than the Dodgers for some time now but still the energy in Dodger stadium is so much better than Angel stadium.

That is because Dodger stadium feels like it is going to fall apart. Wink

Big talk around the Bay Area is that the pitching rotation may change slightly giving a recent call-up pitcher a chance to prove himself at the major league level resulting in Lincecum facing the Dodgers twice before the end of the season instead of not facing them at all.

You're welcome, buddy! Probably won't make a difference given the way the D-Backs are playing now but could make things more interesting.

That is a pretty big deal. Who likes the idea of facing Lincecum? If he had a decent team he would be getting the NL Cy Young.
