For some strange reason, I'm not enjoying this season as much as I usually do. Frown

Just one more sip.

Hey, I'm well aware. I can remember many years when a Boston friend of mine didn't enjoy the season as much as I did. Oh well, these years make the good ones all the more enjoyable. I'd love to see Tampa Bay win it all.

Just one more sip.

Me too, considering the Mets seem be playing like the eventual NL East Champs.

Wouldn't it be a kick if the Cubs finally make it to the World Series and get beat by the Rays?

I think they will hit the wall pretty soon and the Sox and Yanks will make it in.

I wish! But I think the Rays are for real. They may be playing a bit over their heads, but that's what teams need to do. The Yankees, with a dynamite lineup, are playing pitifully below their abilities. They don't deserve to be in the playoffs.

Just one more sip.

I think the Rays are for real. But they still cannot draw flies to their home games. Confused

The Yanks have the worst GM in baseball!!

If you disagree, you work for the government!

Their pitching is so bad, I don't even know if they are playing above/below their level.!!

We give you Pavano this weekend Big Grin

Sometimes location matters. How much worse would the pitiful Twins attendence be if the stadium was on the extreme West side of St. Paul?

Almost impossible for both the Sox and Yanks to get in. Both would have to pass the Rays and the Yanks are 10 games out with 36 to go.

It's been years since I said this without them being eliminated. "The Yankees' season is over." Last time I said that was in 1996 after the Yankees got killed in the first two games of the World Series. I'm glad I was wrong then, but I'm right now. Sing, Mishy.

Just one more sip.

The bullpen has been 'death' for the Mets two seasons in a row. That said, the Mets gave up six in the top of the ninth to lose 8-6 to the Phillies on July 22. NY went on to beat the Phillies 6-3 and 3-1 in the next two games.

Much as we may want to believe otherwise, baseball is much more a series of random independent events than a coherent narrative thread.

Go Angels (and Mets)!

Toot-to-toot, toot-to-toot, too-to-toot ...

I'm playing Taps as my Yankees have just played themselves out of the playoffs tonight. What a pathetic team this year.

Go Rays!

Big Grin Big Grin

Party is over for the Marlins too...barring a miracle like what the Rockies pulled off last year! {of course I didn't expect us to be even this close at this point}

Now maybe I can attend my first MLB playoff game in October!
