NL: East: Mets Central: Cubs West: D-Backs Wild Card: Dodgers AL: East: Yanks Central: Tigers West: Angels Wild Card: Indians "Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty." John 6:35 www.winetarget.com |

Mets land Santana today. Good for the White Sox and bad for the Cubbies.
Berno. No love for the Rockies this year? They had one hell of a finish last year. |

Cinderella Story. I'm pulling for them, definately. "Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty." John 6:35 www.winetarget.com |

If Mets don't win the East this year, Willie should be fired.
Main interest for me will be the Yankee-Red Sox rivalry. I expect one of them to beat the Mets in the World Series. Just one more sip. |

OK.
AL West: Oakland A's Central: Cleveland East: Boston Wild Card: Yankess A's take a 2-0 lead in the series with the Yankees, then blow the series in straight games. Boston beats Cleveland. Boston sweeps the Yankees, Steinbrenner the elder tries to fire his sons. NL: West: Dodgers Central: Nobody East: Philly. (Mets are under .500 in June, manager is fired, team never gets right. Pedro and Johan spend at least one third of season on ijured list. Wild Card: Arizona, but nobody cares because ESPN only covers Boston and New York. Randy Johnson gets healthy late in the season. Arizona beats Philly. Randy Johnson wins two games. Dodgers beat nobody. Nobody cares. Dodgers beat Arizona, Randy Johnson wins two games again, but it's not enough. Dodgers beat Boston, but TV ratings are so low that ESPN announces Boston has won the series and nobody notices. Even Sports Illustrated starts selling a "Boston Redsox 2008 World Series Victors" set with every subscription. When asked, publisher of Sports Illustrated replies, "We'll sell more stuff this way." __________________________ __________________________ "What is man, when you come to think upon him, but a minutely set, ingenious machine for turning, with infinite artfulness, the red wine of Shiraz into urine?" -Isak Dinesen |

As a Mets fan, I thought he should have been fired two years ago. I think Joe Torre would have gotten these Mets to the last 2 WS and would have won 1 of them (against Detroit). |

Only prediction I'm making is that the Marlins will have a better record than the Rays
Probably two worst records in MLB though!! GO GATORS!! |

I don't care about any other league. With our pitching and the young guys stepping up with another year of experience, the Dodgers are going to the WS this year. Mark it. It's happening.
I'm completely fine today...and I didn't even take my pills!! |

the potential is there but until they put it all together, thats all it is. Schmidt needs to prove his arm isn't destroyed, last season was the first in a while that Penny pitched all season without injury, Lowe was solid until the end of the season (though he got the worst run support of the rotation). if the above can pitch up to their abilities, Kuroda throw like he's expected along with Billingsley progressing where he's expected, it is a solid rotation. will be interesting to see... all i know is Russell Martin is the man (though he was terrible when they tried to move him up the order, he batted best when he was at or below the 5 spot) |

Hope springs eternal for us Padres fans. The starting rotation could be spectacular if Prior returns to form (big if). Peavey, Young, Maddux and Wolf make a pretty good 1 through 4. Definite upgrades at 2nd base and center field (no more having to watch Cameron strike out looking with RISP). I don't know what Towers has in mind for left field. Hopefully he can get someone. Reminds me of last year when he said "I am perfectly comfortable with Termell Sledge as my left fielder." We all know how that worked out.
The NL West should be very competitive this year. Play ball! |

This VERY day is the closest the Giants will get to first place this year. Go Giants!
Will be drinking heavily this year and listening to many of the games on the radio while I try to be productive during what I perceive as an unproductive year for the Giants. |

Hang in there, Juicy. Now that Bonds is gone, serious rebuilding can happen. I like the young pitching staff and adding Rowand in center is big.

Jays will be good this year with Travis Snider winning ROY, Big Hurt @ MVP, and Halladay winning the CY.

There are a few bright spots, the signing of Rowand and the pitching staff. It will be interesting how the locker room will change since Bonds has left. Really glad Omar is coming back and hope the rest of the team can learn from him. He is so positive and enthusiatic about life and baseball. In an interview last year, the announcer told Omar "I couldn't believe you made that play in the sixth inning." to which Omar replied, "I can't believe YOU couldn't believe I made that play in the sixth inning." Up the middle will be solid, unfortunately, sometimes other teams hit balls to the left and right of the pitcher. May need to check to see if Vegas has a line for number of homers by the team this year. In most cases, would probably bet the under since Bonds and Feliz are gone. |

Sounds about right to me Who do the Yanks have for pitchers this year anyways. I haven't looked into this enough yet but I think the Sox are poised for back to back championships. I have to look at the rosters more though, I've been too busy with football until after tomorrow. |

The Red Sux might win back-to-back championships. It'll be a wonderful new experience for them. Commonplace here.
Just one more sip. |

I think pitching and defense should be solid, but you can't win if you can't score runs. Sure am glad to see Pedro gone, though I can't say I was glad to see the Giants actually offered him more money than the Phillies |

Commonplace?!? Really? Well, I guess if you've been around long enough that may seem the case, but 0 wins in the last 7 seasons doesn't seem like commonplace to me. |

26 World Series championships are commonplace relative to any other team.
