I am selling a 375mL 1989 Chateau d'Yquem Sauternes along with a few other wines. I have a 1996 Leoville-Las Cases and a 2002 Sine Qua Non Noble Man Chardonnay(bortrytis) that is super rare. Here are the price ranges I am considering:

1989 Chateau d'Yquem 375mL-$350
1996 Leoville-Las Cases-$300
2002 Sine Qua Non Noble Man-$200

I have photos of these wines if you are interested. Let me know if you have any questions...

I'll give you six bucks for the whole lot. And you'll need to throw in a coke and a smile.

It means you just registered here yesterday and no one knows you so your chances of selling these here are about 2%.

I'm fine with it. Just telling you the truth. Try winecommune or continue the witty banter with us here. Smile

#1 - you just registered, chances of selling them here are slim, very slim....I say almost ZERO.

#2 - your prices are HIGH. There is a place in South Carolina selling 89' d'yquem halves for $189....wine-searcher low on 96 LLC starts @ $250....

Anyway, good luck.....

Maybe so but reputable wine is not wine, and without posts, etc you don’t have a reputation around these parts and therefore all your left with is wine. Wine that others around these parts will not buy from a faceless stranger when they can not validate provenance, storage conditions, how you are as a business man, etc. You might be better auctioning or selling at another board, as hardly any commerce happens around these parts.

I have taken a new zen approach

Evan, welcome to the forums. Most of the people that participate in these forum discussions know their wine, know it very well. Would you buy a car from someone you have never met, sight unseen? Plus, everyone here is very savy when it comes to purchasing exclusive wines. You most certainly wont be making any money if you do indeed sell. Also, these people will tell you the way it is, like it or not, but dont take offense its all in good fun. I am very new as well to these forums but feel the advice given is legit and honest.
As an aside, I was kind of hoping to sell some Yellow Tail to all of you, I even have the reserve, let me know? My gut instinct says it doesnt look too good Big Grin

Another analogy would be someone on Winecommune or E-bay who is a brand new member and has 0 feedback to recommend them. Most likely everything you say is true, but without any history here, people are unlikely to take a chance sending any funds upfront on so expensive an item.

A classic buying and selling thread.

Smile

Maybe we should keep the section around for giggles after all.
