Just got a mailer today for Binny's March deals. I'm looking for a good QPR for a party I'm having in June and want a Sauv Blanc. They have 2005 Hanna Sauv Blanc @ $11.99 on sale this month. I read the tasting notes at the winery website (and selling for $17 direct). Anyone tried this and opinions before I pick one up to try? It might work for my party.

WS 84 (good)

Tasty, with juicy citrus and spice notes. Grass and lime nuances are well-balanced on a light frame. Drink now.

For $12, what the heck. Try one. You've got plenty of time to look for something else if YOU don't like it.

Go to your local Costco to find some better SB from New Zeland at about the same price point.

pyang speaks the truth. There's no reason to drink Cali Sauv Blanc. NZ is where it's at, or try some Sancerres or select white bordeaux if you want a different angle on SB.

Not looking good for next year either.

Costco has the 2003/4 (sorry, not sure) Pascal Jolivet Sancerre, which was about $18.00/bottle. I think that this is a very good SB year in year out and would look at this, or the New Zealand wines as mentioned above.
