Genuine curiosity here, all of you folks that are interested and making offers, you really have no issue offering a random person, with no history, nobody vouching for them, etc., $2700+ for an often-forged bottle of wine?

I can see taking a flyer on a $50 bottle of whatever Cali cab, or even something more expensive that isn't so regularly forged, but this is a hell of a stretch.

I'm not really interested in the wine, Jorge, but ever since my close friend, the Nigerian Prince who just discovered how to access his bank account, told me that my cheque is in the mail, I've been thinking of recreational property in the Bahamas, and underwater sounds like it would fit the bill perfectly. How big is the property? Would it be suitable for a family of four now that the children have developed gills?

This could work out well for everyone.

I am in New England.. i'd prefer a local transaction if it came to that so i could transact face to face. The moderators here hold posts for 24hrs or more (for new posters like myself - understandable); not sure when the restriction comes off.

Absolutely healthy to question, no doubt & you make good point. So,on my end.. i have had these in my possession since 2004 & they have been in our Eurocave. Both say right on the label - 'Dreyfus Ashby & CO, New York, NY' assuming they were imported into the U.S before our purchase. Do these forums allow pics? I'd be happy to take some & post as well. I am not in the 'selling' (of wine) business usually.. but, (as i've mentioned).. this year, some important priorities to take care of.

It's funny, but just last week I saw a M*A*S*H episode that had Major Winchester hooking up with a French babe. He came into her tent holding a bottle of wine. He claimed it to be a Petrus. I don't remember her challenging his honesty.


I know, this post has nothing to do with what's going on here. I just thought it was funny to have a Petrus reference in a M*A*S*H episode.
