You have a few that show some past signs of seepage(sp?) but I might be interested in two, one in the middle and one on the far left, that show good fill and no signs of seepage.

That sounds good, if those are the two you want no problem.

The two that you mentioned we ended up drinking tonight. Hey, what are neighbors for right? I mentioned that those two in particular would be difficult to sell and he agreed. So now there are 7 available and here is the updated pic, the two in middle have the lowest fill level:

I posted my tasting notes if you are interested, the wine is definitely enjoyable.

Edit: If for whatever reason someone wanted to see the bottle empty, here it is: http://www.imgplace.com/image_bin/8976/dff952e5a48e28d1838797d5181d7c19.jpg

The 1966 Mouton and Lafite are excellent and the 1966 Latour is a spectacular wine. I'd bet the 1959 Talbot is wonderful.

Just one more sip.

How much are the 66 firsts? Just wondering because I was thinking about posting some 66 Margaux. Haven't had the Latour, Lafite, or Cheval, but the Margaux is a pretty wine. They all need to be drank soon I imagine tough.

The 1966 Latour I would put at ~$500. This is based on current auction values and what is available from retailers. Winezap and winesearcher show prices starting at 700 and up and auction values are in the ~500 range.

The 1966 Mouton and '66 Lafite are going to be around the same ~350 range, the Mouton may be a bit stronger.

'66 Margaux unfortunately appears to be the weakest out of the first growths. I would put it at around ~250 based on retail and auction value.

Now is a good time to buy, I would like to drink them this year Wink

1966 was an off-year for Margaux. The wine's not good and certainly not worth purchasing. Margaux was great through the 1961 vintage. With the exception of the decent 1962 and 1964, Margaux didn't emerge from its funk til the 1978 vintage.

Just one more sip.

And the '83 Mouton, which I think I better hurry up and buy myself: http://www.imgplace.com/image_bin/6949/e20bf322c57c2c394ef42f336b50a064.jpg

Added some prices to give everyone an idea of what I am looking for. I think everyone will agree that the prices are significantly less than retail and slightly under auction. The only way you could get these bottles cheaper is if I gave them away.

Sticky2 - I'm an idiot for not saving on shipping and pulling the trigger earlier, but please sign me up for that 1983 Mouton. I'll email you tomorrow. My first First Growth purchase. Wow. I LOVED a 1983 Leoville Las Cases, so I'm thinking maybe 1983 is a good one to try.

I knew I should have jumped on the '83 Mouton. But no, the stupid Karl Lawrence mailer had to come. Mad Oh well, at least it will get a good home. Frown I guess the '66 Cheval-Blanc may not be a bad consolation prize.

I'll be looking for your e-mail tomorrow.

Seanr7,

For what it's worth, I had the 71 Cos back 2 years ago(also my birthyear). It was nice and interesting and drinkable but definitely past its prime. For 80, it's a steal but don't expect something profound.
