I finally am completing construction of my first real wine cellar. Does anyone know of a decent, easy to use software program. Keeping track of the wine would be nice.

I have been using CELLAR! for about 6 months and love it. I have a small cellar and use it mainly for keeping track of what I have been drinking. The geek factor is great. You can use as much or as little of it as you want and the shared winery and tasting notes are great. Great customer service as well. Good luck!

I'd second the rec for Cellar! with a small caveat. Some wierd things happen on some systems. If you don't have a reasonable degree of experience tracing problems and/or understanding your OS pretty well, you may have a bad experience.
I love the program. It worked great from install on two of the three machines which share the data.. The third machine, the real powerhouse, had a lot of problems. The support was great, but it still took a lot of work on my part to make it functional and I have a professional background in networking/software troubleshooting. The shared data (the program downloads producer information) is great to have, but some of the data is total crap, entered by really lazy people. I have a barcoding system as well with it which has been flawless. The program also networks very well. On the whole, the pluses well outweigh the minuses. I'd recommend giving it a try. A. |

I came accross the same problem. My solution was to design my own software (database). It's almost finished at this point. It includes virtually everything that one could want (cost, country, tasting notes, labels, totals, fully searchable etc).
If you know how to work with FileMaker of Access it is easy to design whatever you want. If you are interested send me an email and I'll send you some screen shots. mlizzola@sympatico.ca |

I would also recomend CELLAR,they are very quick on the updates and the online sharing of tasting notes and up to date winery info is good also.
I have been using it for about 8 months Cheers !! JL |
