Hello wine lovers - I've been a private wine collector for over 15 years and have enjoyed quite a run collecting and drinking some great wines.

Times are a-changin', however, and I can't afford to buy the minimums anymore for some of the lists I'm on (and labored to get on over many years.)

Is anyone out there who would be interested in going in with me to buy at least minimum quantities of: Merus, Kistler, Pride Mountain, Harlan Estate (& Bond), Silver Oak, Ojai Vineyards, Alban? I'll give you my cost. My goal here is to still stay on the lists and be able to buy some of my favourite wines - just in smaller quantities. The one stipulation is that you need to be in the LA area (preferably the Valley or Ventura County) as I don't plan to ship wine.

thank you in advance for your interest -
kris for pete's sake

Caedmonsfreak,

Appreciate your interest. I am reluctant to get involved in shipping wine out of state as I am not a wholesaler or liquor distributor. I believe it is illegal for me to ship as an individual. If you have more knowledge about this than I do, please advise. The offer was legitamate though. My wife & I get fine wine directly from: Kistler, Harlan Estate, Bond Winery, Alban Winery, Behrens & Hitchcock, Pride Mountain, Long Vineyards, Merus Winery, Ridge Vineyards, Foxen Winery, Melville, and others. It's getting out of hand! We can't keep spending this kind of money to stay on these mailing lists. Example: Kistler Vineyards newest offering, for a mandatory one case minimum is costing $780.00 for the case. Harlan Estate's last offering was $350.00 per bottle on the Estate Wine, and $330.00 per 3-pak on The Maiden wine. Get the picture? This is not to mention the wine we buy at the retail level. Help! tomtom: My next offer for Harlan Estate comes in another year. I get two offers a year from Alban. Still don't know about shipping wine out of state. Hazy Blur Originally posted by tomtom:

Kumazam: The Rose Bowl is in Pasadena. USC seems to prevail in football there. Just in case you haven't noticed. Hazy Blur

Hazy Blur -

really?!? lets see, last 3 games... Loss to Texas, Loss to UCLA & Win over Michigan... nice definition of prevailing!

and besides, the only reason i brought it up is you commented to tomtom about out of state shipping when he is in state, just a small detail thats all... hopefully the transaction works out for you both

sbfireman: No, Santa Barbara County is not too far outside my area. I have a current offer pending offer from Kistler for 2004 Chardonnays, and some Pinot Noir. I'm on Harlan Estate, Bond, Merus, Pride Mountain, Behrens & Hitchcock, Alban Vineyards, and others. Some are only offered once a year, some are twice a year. Can't keep spending this kind of money to stay on all these Winery Mailing lists. Not trying to make a profit, only trying to stay on some of the lists, and break even on the wine. Hazy Blur.
