Hi,

I went to Montalcino in the summer of 2005 and had the opportunity to taste many Brunellos. There I was tipped off that the 2001 Casanova di Neri would be the cream of the crop of the '01 vintage... so I did the only logical thing a wine obsessed man can do...

I bought 9 cases of the stuff and had it shipped directly to me in the states...

Now it's the wine of the year - a deserving title. I don't always agree with our dear friends at the WS, but this time they get no argument from me. Smile

Anyone want some? Feel free to leave contact info here or email me at inquiry@vinoexchange.com.

Sure I'll take some, but I'm not paying a penny more than I paid on release. Well, OK....I'll pay a penny more just to make things nice and neat....$40/bottle. How much do you have left?

Seriously. Was my posting offensive? It's not like I'm not keeping a good portion of the wine myself.

I didn't intend to offend anyone with my posting. Next time I'll be sure to post in the "Buying and Selling" section of the forums... Oh wait, I did. Smile

Anyway, this isn't spam. I'm just a web designer who happened to get some good advice. I'm up for selling 2-3 cases of the wine and/or trading for other wines that I myself can't get.

To all of you that got the wine at $40-45/btl. Enjoy it, it's really good. Do try not to be so bitter though, it really doesn't pair well with the Brunellos.

Thanks.

Paul

Don't forget your signature has an email and vinoexchange.com with the Tenuta hype right on the home page. Wink

Looks like you're in pretty deep for a lowly web designer. Cool

I do a lot of ecommerce work and with that comes google marketing. That site is merely an experiment to see how much traffic I can drive to the site. It's what I do for a living making other people rich, so I figured I would try it for something I'm interested.

Anyway, the first rule of google search engine marketing: the highest ranking piece of info you can have on your site is to have a keyword (ex. Tenuta Nuova") link to another site. Google ranks that with the most weight.

I guarantee you that I am not associated with any wine shop or reseller. If you do a google search for "Casanova Di Neri" you'll see that the Italian Wine Merchant site comes up 4th. That's all I was doing. Plus, they only have the 2000 vintage - but they do have good content to "borrow" from. Anyway, I will no go make that link to Zachy's instead.

Anyway, you don't need to believe any of this. Bottom line is I have some wine that I am looking to trade or sell.

And what value are you placing on these bottles as a basis for making these deals?

What value? I don't know. I see Zachy's selling it for $125, Soklin for $130, people are paying $150 on WineCommune.com...

I'd say somewhere in the lower range is fair. I am not going to hold out for top dollar or anything. What do you think is a fair price (I know... $45, right?)? I'm open to suggestions and trades. Ideally for me one person would want 2 cases and then I'd only have to deal with shipping the wine once.

Frankly, anything that you can sell it for is fair. It's a commodity. Demand is spiking. God bless.

Now, I think that anyone who buys this wine for $125 is a flippin' idiot, but that's another story for another day.

Geesh... I wanted to avoid using WC... seems like a pain in the butt to me... but hard to argue with $200/btl. Anyone ever use WCommune? Is it easy to work with?

Very easy. I'd get right over there, if I were you.
