I purchased some bottles at a wine auction. Ihave had them in my wine cooler for six years. Recently some of the labels started coming off. Is this typical of old wines. some date back to 1955.
The sleeve over the cork looks old and has the winerys markings on them. they are Margaux wines

You may want to check the humidity level in your cooler..if it is too high it will cause the labels to come off.

I dont have experience with olders bottles but could be just deterioration of the glue.

The vintages are: 1955 Ausone-dubois challon
2- 1955 Chateau Margaux

WHat should i do when the labels come off from humidity? Should I glue them back on?
