I am interested in buying this wine for a dinner. I see it for $24 at Wine Library.com, however it's $15.65 at webwine.com

First off, any comments on the wine itself?
Secondly, when buying wine online, are all these web sites generally trustworthy (as far as taking care of the wine before it arrives in your hands). I guess specifically, has anyone used Webwine.com?

Thanks so much and sorry if I sounds a bit uninformed.

Had to look; @ 15.99 its a steal. Alas, its for the wee little bottle...24.00 a good price otherwise...
when buying online @ min. always make sure its what you expect(e.g. full size/vintage etc.)
Have not used webwine they apparently do not ship to my state Roll Eyes...
Wine Library is very good...

Geyserville 03 is very enjoyable. Ridge Lytton Springs 04 is also good...

wineOCD:

Ahhh...I missed the size difference! I will have to look locally for the Geyserville 03. I used to order wines online last year, however I kept finding if I looked locally I could find the same at a lesser price.

In fact, I am not so sure ordering wine online is for anything other than wines you cannot get at your local wine store.

do not know where you are at; but i find most things to be less expensive from online retailers even w/shipping...

of course am in a relatively small market and it's difficult to find highly rated / low allocation wines here...although am sometimes pleasantly surprised...
I usually find what i want from jersey; they're close enough that shipping is not too bad and i do not pay ny sales tax...bonus...pay enough already...

Joined a wine club @ Larkmead and unfortunately am paying more than buying off shelf here...(w/delivery & they collect ny tax) e.g. my local store is clearing out their 2001 merlot for 30.00us /but cannot find their solaris or lmv in secondary market(reasonably so)...
conversely, can go to another store and buy a 1997 mondavi reserve for 80.00us...
1999 casanova di neri TN 50.00us...etc.
just have to dig around...

there are exceptions...there are always exceptions...

i would recommend joining some mailing lists minimum...
good luck...

Mikev101, I really like the Geyserville. In the Ridge tradition, it is well balanced. I don’t buy 375s of any Zin because between my wife and I, or if we are entertaining, the bottle will most certainly get kicked. However, that is a good price for a 375 but you can get the 750 for ~ $24 from the Wine Library or K&L and that is a steal.
