I actually just got the story of the placement of the last puppy yesterday. "Butthead," the last male had worked his way into my ex's heart to the extent that she was just going to keep him and his sister Molly. A young woman approached my ex two days before Christmas with a real heart tugger of a story. Her brother had just lost his big mutt, his best buddy for the past 14 years, and was heartbroken. The family had decided to all pitch in to get him a replacement. She stopped by to meet Butthead, and was smitten immediately. She rounded up the rest of the family and arranged to meet her brother at my ex's home early Christmas morning. Butthead immediately went to the man who was destined to become his new "daddy" and proceeded to give the kind of greeting only a Lab puppy can. He cried. Everybody cried. Butthead got a great new home. A good Christmas for all.
