Too many mailers, too little $$$.

I was recently added to the Turley list and although it is a small allocation, first come first serve is welcome to it at cost, plus shipping to your location.

Dogtown Zin - $45 - x1
Pesenti Zin - $35 - x2
Ueberroth Zin - $48 - x1

I'm just trying to get rid of it so they don't kick me off for the Spring mailer. Do you know what their policy is for skipping mailers? How many until you are blacklisted?

Ummm, apparently their policy is to kick people off their mailing list for re-selling their wine. Eek

Thats so stupid once they sold their wine they should not worry about what happens from that point on its no longer theirs. Thats like me selling my car and then yelling at the person who bought it because they are not taking care of it.

Couldn't resist this one!

Although in a purely capitalistic market your comment about them selling the wine and then not worrying about it is valid. In such a market, the winery sets its price to cover its costs and to cover the demand. Yet, if we go by the capitalistic model, Turley's mailing list prices suddenly would double, and there would be people who would pay. The coolest thing about Turley is that they try their hardest to be on our side (the wine lover, that is). Therefore, it takes a long time to get on the list and they are trying to favor those who love and support their wine, not those who are on the list because it is cool or can turn a profit. In Turley's Wine-World model, rewards and preference are given to those who deserve it, not those who pay the $$$.

I love the wine and hope that no rich bozo's come along and ruin my ability to buy and enjoy it.

Turley Zins can be had at many retail wine shops near me for 5 bucks on average over mailing list prices.

That's excellent! I see them generally for double the mailer price the places I've been. I suppose $5 above is reasonable if you are on the list and you can't afford everything this time around and just need to move some of your bottles at cost. Still there are people patiently waiting to be on the Turley list that those should, in theory, go to.
