Even at last year's prices, Schrader at $95 isn't that much of a bargain compared to Maybach's $110. In this price point $15/bottle doesn't mean squat. Personally, I'll be enjoying both Schrader and Maybach......in about 7-10 years.

As Sean said, this is a no brainer buy for me. While I'm still sitting on my '04's, the barrel samples I tasted last year were KILLER.

Hey FatCity,

I'll take your allocation if you won't be taking it. Email me at abramski@yahoo.com, I'm on the West Coast in the Bay Area.

Sincerely,
Adam

I'm in as well. It's good wine. Deciding whether it is worth the price is for everyone to decide for himself (or herself). I like Schrader as well, but don't see purchasing both as mutually exclusivie.

That is what was playing in my head as I typed. Far too lazy to finish it, so thanks WIML.

The 2004 Maybach was (I believe) their first release, and I ordered the maximum of 3 bottles--the mags were gone by the time I ordered.

For the 2005 Maybach, I ordered before I got the mailer and I did get the Magnum along with 6 bottles. I just received my 2005 Maybach order and they will stay in the cellar, without any premature openings!

I am very particular of what mailing lists I join, and while many of you know how I feel about expensive wines, I feel Maybach is a list to consider seriously. The quality is definitely in the bottle at Maybach.

I love this wine. Got my 6 bottles and 1 mag. Definitely a great winery to support. They have plans on a pinot and chard in the relatively near future...will be interested to see how those turn out.

Already one note on Cellar Tracker that someone has popped one. Anyone else popped one yet? My 3 are in the cellar sleeping, and have 3 more going out today. Thanks Chris! Going to be tempting not to open one, but I have been pretty good about not opening things early the last couple years. Curious to see how this wine is going to develop! -mJ

That would be me. I had the 05 as well as the 06 at the Maybach NYC open house. I would recco a long decant if tempted. I myself won't open one until 2010 or later.
