I am looking to secure a 375 of d'Yquem 2001 and I know that it's about $100 cheaper than in Ontario.

Anybody willing to pick up a bottle for me (I'll pay from here by cc) and hold for the next time I'm in Van (sometime this year) or if you are planning a trip to Toronto this year???

It's $229 here if you want it shipped.

I appreciate the offer, but I don't think it's legal to ship (or more likely to receive shipped wine) in Ontario.

Thanks muchly though

Sure, I can do that for you. I'm not expecting to be in TO this year, though.

I'll try to seek it out this weekend. I was tempted to buy 1 or 2 750ml at Costco last spring, but thought it was too expensive. That price ($400 ) is sure starting to look a lot better now. Smile

Hey, StarV100:

There is only ONE 375 ml bottle remaining in the entire Greater Vancouver area! I called the store, and they tell me that it is on hold for a customer. I can put pressure on them to release it to me (government store, and I'm a citizen who loves making noises about favoritism and all that), but I will have to drive out to a suburb and do it in person, so please reply. Do you want me to try to nab it?

Yes, godx, Palm Springs. I'm pretty sure no Candadian Costcos carry wine/liquor, not even in the enlightened East.

Seaquam: According to this there's a number of bottles left. I would like 2 if available. Thanks so much.

StarV100 -- try clearing your browser/history and run the search again. I think you're pulling up an old version of that page. Smile

I just got off the phone with the main store, and they did a product search on their computer which shows 1 bottle remaining in this area. It is spoken for, but I can call that store again tomorrow and start complaining-- which may or may not work-- if that 's what you'd like.

Seaquam, that is odd.

I go to the website and search on the wine, and I get several line items, including 2 separate d'Yquem 2001's. One is product #214957 with one bottle showing and one is product #360651 with 14 bottles showing.

Anyway, thanks for the offer. Tell you what. I'll call them tomorrow, see if they'll take my credit card # and if so, perhaps you could grab it for me.

What do you think?

Eek TWO different stock numbers for exactly the same wine! Only in BC, you say.

That explains the problem. Let me know if you can get it (39 & Cambie has largest stock in Vancouver and easy for me to get to, but can do other stores as well). If it's a problem, let me know and I'll just go and buy it wherever I can-- probably best to email me then at hotmail, seaquam99, so we can discuss delivery.
