I have a bottle of 1981 Masi Campofiorin that we were given as a wedding present 15 years ago. So its 27 years old now. Looks very authentic Italian if that makes any sense. Numbered on the back #268. My questions are..

- What do I do with it...lol I'm curious to try it. Or should I wait longer?
- Is there still a chance its even any good? Its been stored in a cool, dark garage this whole time, but some of the time possibly veritical.
- Where can I find information on the region, how grapes were that year, winery info etc.

Sorry I've always been a micro brew guy, wife is just starting to get me into trying wines so I'm in the process of finding out what I like/dislike. Thanks in advance for any advice you might have.

MrBiGG, in my opinion I don't think your at any advantage by waiting as it is likely beyond its peak. If there is some type of sentimental value to you save the empty bottle. My recommendation, is a couple of peppered rib eyes for you and your wife and this mature full bodied wine may offer some dried fruit flavors still. I wouldn't use this wine to help decide what you may or may not like in the future. Good luck.

I wouldn't wait....go for it.

And have a back-up ready in case it's dead...

Thx for the replies! I just wanted to make sure it wasnt going to kill me or that I wasnt wasting a $1000 bottle of wine on me who probably right now wouldnt know the difference.
