Anyone know a good source for finding quality Chateauneuf in Dallas or online?

The typical California online retailers have plenty of 2003 (and some older vintages) on the shelves right now. I just flew back from California and stopped into Wine Exchange while there and picked up two bottles of 2003 Clos St. Jean CdP Deux Machina (RP95). Try those guys: Wine Exchange, Woodland Hills, K&L and Premier Cru. Also check with Wine Library in NJ.

I can only recommend on-line shops, as I live in New York. The most reliable, best selection with good prices is Zachy's in Scarsdale NY. My personal favorite is www.raederswines.com They have the best prices, are reliable and have many hidden gems in their cellars they don't always show on the website. You can post a request directly to them and often come up with something unexpected.

Good luck......

Vintage specific? My guy has some great 04s in...40ish a bottle. I'm not too familiar with CdP but I can get you the names.

Hey escape,
Can you define "quality?" What price range do you want to stay in?

Or he could just swing by Centennial on his way home from work and see what Lance & John have on the shelf. Razz

Would also agree with the Centennial and Lance at Preston at Northwest Highway. Also consider the Sigels (Chris Hayes) at Inwood and Beltline and the one on Greenville (ask for Eric). The Majestic at Walnut Hill and Greenville also has a great selection.
I also have several 1998 CdPs in my cellar that I would consider selling, if interested. Happy hunting!

PATRICK LESEC,CHATEAUNEUF DU PAPE "BARGETON" 2003

Another blockbuster is the 2003 Chateauneuf du Pape Bargeton, a 70% Grenache, 20% Mourvedre, 5% Cinsault, and 5% Syrah blend aged two-thirds in small barrels and one-third in foudre. Fashioned entirely from La Crau fruit, it reveals a dense ruby/purple color as well as scents of crème de cassis and cherry liqueur, pure fruit, enormous body, and a layered, multidimensional mouthfeel. This seriously endowed, heady, concentrated Chateauneuf du Pape should be at its peak between 2007-2017.
