Last year, I ordered 12 2004 Cheval Blanc through P-C. Months ago, the order came in and was shipped to me. However, they neglected to send the wanted wood case. I phoned for it, but nope, too late. I've kept an eye out since for another case, but to no avail.

I'd like to store the bottles intact in the case. Any chance someone knows of one that might be available, I'd be very interested. Preferably with its' inserts would be great. I can be contacted at kscallahan at hot mail dot com.

Kevin,

I'll give it a try with a few friends that may have access to some CB cases.
I'll let you know...

There's a retailer on ebay that is always trying to sell OWC. They seem to have a huge selection, you may want to try them and see if they could help.

I know they obtained a case for me some time ago.

KSC02: You may have already tried this, but thought I would throw it out there anyway. Have you called any of the stores that show having the wine available on wine-searcher, particularly the ones you do business with on a regular basis? They may be willing to part with one if they have any. Just a thought.

Good suggestion, and thanks for the email link, Keeno. I'll give them a call. Wink

No problem. Kind of funny that e-mail came yesterday. Seemed like a good price on the wine too. Good luck.

If its of any help Scottsdale Costco just put out a case and they usually just toss the old boxes and crates. Might be worth a phone call.

desertwineguy,

So are you saying that they had the 04' cheval blanc back in? Saw it a few months ago at the north phoenix location. Makes me wonder where it's been sitting all summer. What were they selling it for?

Anything else interesting besides the Petrus?

T Dub-
chateaudubois has an OWC. Thanks for the link. We're trading emails.

Keeno-
Checked with JJBuckley. Yep, they've got cases. Just need to check in after the ordering and see what they've got (couple of weeks).

Thanks for the ideas guys.

The Cheval blanc at the north phx store was 2003 wasn't it? The 04 was priced at 299.00. They had a few things that were def interesting but nothing I couldn't leave at the store. Check the Costco Alerts and you'll see what AZCat had listed.

I could swear it was the 2004, I thought it was like $230 or so, I couldn't see the 2003 selling for that back then but I could be wrong, who knows.

Keep an eye out for that 05' Bordeaux though and I will as well, I'm up there usually every other week or so.

I just double checked. It was def the 03 the north phx store had. I had checked on it when they closed out the last few bottles and still had the year in my history on google. I thought it wasnt worth buying even when they dropped the price. The 04 Haut Brion was a steal when they dropped the price on that though.
