Hi, my fiancé and I are getting married in Olympia, WA and want to have all WA wines for our reception. We are looking for a chardonnay, syrah, and pino noir in the $8 to $12 dollar range. Our questions fall on two fronts. We do not live in Washington, so it is hard for us to taste local wines that are not nationally distributed. Does anyone out there have some suggestions for the wines in that price range? We like the Bridgman 2000 chardonnay.

Also, because we are from out of state, what are some good wine sellers in Seattle or the south sound that could provide us with 5 cases of one of the wines on short notice.

Thanks for your input, Jen

You might try Esquin Wine Cellars in Seattle- I've ordered from them and they ship. Seems like a good operation, though I've never visited the store. I think the website is http://www.esquin.com

snoqualmie, except they do not have any pinot noir. the syrah and chardonnay are very decent for the price. espicially the syrah.

Try Reininger. They have several wines to offer, although the price range may be in the mid to high teens. I've had a blend they call Helix that is a quite good. They do have a website as well. Congratulations.

Syrah: Columbia Crest 2 Vines Shiraz
Chardonnay: Chateau St. Michelle or Columbia Crest
Pinot Noir: I think you might want to look to Oregon. The only PN producer in WA I know of is Syncline and they are in the $30 range. For OR PN in the $8-12 range, try Firesteed, Bethel Heights, Jezebel, Evsham Wood, Argyle or O'Reilly's, although you may pay a bit more for these but all are very good QPR.

Try contacting Avalon wines in Oregon. They are close, ask for Marcus. He'll steer you in the right direction ant they are dialed in up there.

Cheers
