I'm not spamming the site and have no affiliation with it. I'm a bit tapped out in the wine budget area from the last LCBO release. I also don't like this buying by the case business and am therefore wondering if there are interests from fellow Ontarians to share the burden by splitting a case.
This is what I want. If we can make a case, an order could be placed. 3 x 2005 Pegau CdP Cuvee Reservee 750 @79 (12 in a case) 1 x 2005 pegau CdP Cuvee Reservee 1.5L - $169 (3 in a case) from wineonline.ca Please respond if interested. I would call and verify that the mags of Cuvee Laurence are still available. I'm pretty sure they sold out earlier in the year and just haven't updated their inventory. Maybe that's for the mags of Cuvee Reservee, however. I can't remember off the top of my head.

You are right. They updated: 05 Reservee 1.5L - $169 05 Laurence 750 - $149 05 Reservee 750 - $79 Guess the 1.5 was an error. This message has been edited. Last edited by: WEc, ____________________ An intelligent man is sometimes forced to be drunk to spend time with his fools. - Hemingway |

I'd be in for three of the 750s if it's open invitation ...

Scratch that ... will split however many of the 750 CRs you'd like to give me. Anything six or under is fine with me.

I've got a friend who wants to split as well. WEc, if you're willing to bump your 750 CR order to four, I can order this tonight. Both of us are in Mississauga, but I'm in Toronto for school four times a week. Let me know! "I can certainly see that you know your wine. I'm interested in 2-4 of the 750 Reservee if that is still possible.
Let me know. |

WEc:
I've already placed an order ... I heard through a friend that they take them in the order in which they arrive So there's a 12-pack of CR coming my way (hopefully). I'd love to split it 3 ways. OTW is in for four, and i'm in for four... how about you? "I can certainly see that you know your wine. Most of the guests who stay here wouldn't know the difference between Bordeaux and Claret." Sorry was out of town on vacation and didn't bring any gadgets. I'm in for 4 as well if it isn't too late. Thanks for putting this together.

When I called them to check on the Mag earlier as fut suggested they told me the CR were in stock and only the Cuvee Laurence were the only ones on order. Is this no longer the case? ____________________ An intelligent man is sometimes forced to be drunk to spend time with his fools. - Hemingway |

Not quite sure what the stock/no stock situation is on anything but the CRs ...
Good news though! I was confirmed the 12! A good friend of mine that knows the administrators there said someone was taking vacation time, but the requests should be shipped shortly "I can certainly see that you know your wine. Hey guys ... just to update you, I've now been charged the balance for the case of '05 Pegau ... sounds like a confirmation to me On a sidenote, would you be interested in splitting a bottle with a friend of mine? He purchased 18 bottles of the stuff, and if we all pitch in a 20, he'll open one up for everyone to try. Since we all have a vested interest in the product, it sounds like a deal. Heck, if you're interested, I wouldn't mind turning it into a cellar-thinning offline in Toronto ... I've been dying to open up one of these '04 Foley Clarets ... Let me know what you think! May I ask a newbie type question .... just who is www.wineonline.ca ??
What is their connection to LCBO and whom ever sells wine in Nova Scotia (as only two provinces they can ship to. Is there price fixed by lCBO? Do they have a greater selection? In all or just French? Curious Thanks Greg |

Hi Greg,
Just to clarify, wineonline.ca is one of several import agents who also sell their wine in private orders. The LCBO is the only retailer allowed to sell single bottles publicly, but in the Ontario retail market, alcohol can be purchased by the full case through licensed importers. Almost every product carried by the board has an import agent who also tries to sell wines outside of the LCBO consignment to private individuals, restaurants, etc. Although prices are all dictated by the AGCO/LCBO, and technically the purchase arrangements are made through the board, private ordering is a system in place to help individuals get their hands on products that the LCBO has chosen not to carry. Their connection is not to the LCBO, but to the AGCO. They are one of many licensed importers (others include Charton-Hobbs, Diageo, and Lifford Agencies, for example). The selection isn't necessarily "greater" (nor is it easy to expand ... each product submitted for sale in Ontario must go through a rigorous testing, pricing, and licensing process) but it often includes products that are otherwise unobtainable. On a personal note, wineonline.ca is one of a handful of importers that provide great service and a great product line, and I can vouch to their attention to detail and customer service orientation. Hi guys, I received an e-mail from Wineonline today: the product is in lab tests so it should be released for delivery shortly. Here's the e-mail:
"We’re happy to let you know that the Pegau Chateauneuf du Pape has finally arrived and should be released from testing shortly. However, due to the sharp increase in the cost of the euro since the time the wine was ordered, the wine price must rise by $5 per bottle on 750ml bottles, $15 per bottle on magnums and $40 per bottle on double magnums." With that having been said, I've confirmed my order for 12 bottles with them. Are you guys still in with the new price? "I can certainly see that you know your wine. Most of the guests who stay here wouldn't know the difference between Bordeaux and Claret." John Cleese (Basil Fawlty) |

I was just thinking about this as I had completely forgotten about it. I'm good to go. Their 8-12 weeks sure takes a while!

I'm also fine with the price. Let me know when you are ready. I assume you still have my e-mail.
This steady increase in the value of the Euro is starting to affect the price of European wines in recent Vintages releases - e.g. the Quintarelli in the April 12 release was up from $75 last year to $85 now. |

Sounds like a plan.

Hi guys, just to keep you informed, I'm going to go ahead and pick up the Pegau from them directly while I'm in Toronto tomorrow. I'll only be in Toronto all day Thursday and Sunday this week (exams) but I can make it into the city anytime next week or the week after as well.
Unfortunately I've hunted and hunted and I can't find your e-mail addresses ... I think I'm just going stir-crazy from school! Could you guys shoot me one more e-mail at purpleteeth83 (at) gmail.com to finalize? "I can certainly see that you know your wine.
