I am very new to the wine drinking world. My mother-in law gave us several bottles last week and we are wondering if we should drink them or save them. Anyone know the value of these wines??
1. Mouton-Cadet Bordeaux Blanc 1981 2. Beringer Chenin Blanc 1978 3. Charles Fournier Chablis Superieur - unknown year. Thanks in advance for any help. Charles |

Those wines have no value beyond the scope of how they were given to you. You can either allow their evolution into vinegar, or give them to someone whom is as equally important to you, as you are to the person who gave them to you.

Unfortunately these wines were dead on release, let alone after twenty years with questionable storage.
They make nice bartop decorations but are worthless for any other purpose. -------------------- "One may dislike carrots, spinach, beetroot, or the skin on hot milk. But not wine. It is like hating the air that one breathes, since each is equally indispensable." Marcel Ayme` |

Sorry to say, but you've got A perfect hat trick, all 3 are plonk.
I thought you said a friend gave them to you |

OK, thanks for the replies. I guess they will reside on the wine rack. I thought about cracking one open but I might end up with vinegar.......yuck!
