I recently got a call from a grey market company that got my information from a co-worker. I had been talking to my co-worker about possibly letting 2 bottles of 98 Haut Brion go. My question is I was offered $400 dollars a bottle. Is this a fair price? I really don't keep up with the auction prices.

Thanks in advance!!

The price is a little high for this wine. If you're really interested, contact Michael Weiss at MW wines. He's listing it for $360. I have purchased from him multiple times without a hiccup. Also, Binny's in IL is listing this wine for $345, but I have no direct experience with them.

PNwG is asking if $400 is a good price for him to sell the wine at not buy it at.

Thanks, seanr7. I misread the post.

I guess the advice still obtains, just from another angle. If he can get $400 per bottle, and doesn't mind letting the wine go, it's a good price from the seller's perspctive based on current market value.

PNG,
I find it more than a little odd that a "gray market" company is cold calling people to ask if they want to sell. I wouldn't do any business with them unless it was cash only.
