Whew... finally finished making a list of wines that I'm OK with letting go. This REPLACES my "Covr My A~~ Wine Sale" thread. That one got too convoluted with unrelated comments (I'm sure this will eventually too).

As there are too many wines to post, please send me your email address (ONLY IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY) and I'll send the Excel sheet to you. My addy is mattha@gmail.com

A few things to note...

  • Buyer pays shipping and asssumes risk. I send out only via FedEx.

  • I'm always happy to meet local people over a glass of wine at happy hour to make the swap. I live in Orange County mostly, but Vegas as well.

  • The provenance of these are incredible. Those who know me know thaat I only buy from the best sources.

  • ALL of these are wines I personally own. I'm not a broker or in the wine business in any way.

  • ALL of thse wines are stored in professional wine storage facilities.

  • I don't have time to participate in banter, so I'll have to ignore the imminent nasty posts from the usual suspects on this WS board who, for some reason, enjoy discouraging good, well-intentioned people from posting wines for sale.

  • No, I won't try to deduct the losses on bottles I sell cheaper than I paid for them again my taxes Razz

A preview of what is in there...

  • All First Growths from multiple vintages going back to the 1800's

  • Large formats of bordeaux, california cabs and Yquem

  • Lots of sauternes from 375s to imperials

  • Special verticle collections of Silver Oak, Cinq Cepage in gorgeous gift boxes

  • Screaming Eagle, Harlan, Hundred Acre, Sloan

  • Vintage champagne back to the 70's.

  • Lots of RP and WS 100 pointers

G-Man: That was just my attempt at a humorous comment ahead of all the tax crap posts that are no doubt coming this way.

If that is true - why are you not taking it? Seriously, why are you on here posting if you have a legit offer like that? That works out to be $666/bottle. Just saying... Popcorn

For those that are members on eBob:

http://dat.erobertparker.com/b...wthread.php?t=191046

http://dat.erobertparker.com/b...wthread.php?t=201279

This seems to be somewhat of a pattern for Mr. Harris. Don't know that he is selling for a profit as a side business or not...but it is rather odd to me at least that he is offering up millions of dollars of wine on multiple occasions.

Hey Bill: Clearning out some wines from time to time is actually a pattern for many people on EBob (and WS too). I suppose I just get called out because I offer way more bottles. BTW, about 80-90% of this are the same wines I posted earlier this year. And, I'm not selling them all. I just need to raisse $$ for some new wines I've ordered. I'm not sure what people want, so I offer up a good chunk of my collection and let poeple pick. I cut it off at a certain point (as I did earlier this year). So, no, I didn't sell $1m in wine early this year and I'm not offering an entirely new $1m this time.

Asking why you just don't take the $1M. Why bother selling off piece mail if you have an offer for an average of $667/bottle. Take the money.

For someone with 1M worth in their cellar, you sure have some poor money management skills if you need to raise money for recent wine purchases.

Ahhh... gotcha. I actually don't want to sell all of these. So, I likey wouldn't take the $1m offer for the whole lot. The reason I put up more than I'd sell is just to give people a choice.

Matt's not fooling anybody here. He's running a wine business from this site and I doubt he pays any state or federal tax. I'd bet he doesn't collect sales tax either. This appears to be a dishonest and possibly illegal operation. I don't think he should be allowed to do it here. For anyone who believes those ridiculous raising money and cellar clearing excuses, I have a bridge for sale.

Just one more sip.

East Coast or West Coast? I don't want to relocate.

Thanks for your support so far everyone!

It'd be too much of a pain to update the list constantly as stuff sells, so please just feel free to ask if the wine is still available.

Cheers!

I really don't care as long as I get the wine. There are many people that have a side business to supplement their income on ebay and other forums. Do you pay sales tax on everything you buy from another state through mail order? Most people don't.
