QSS,
I posted this several weeks ago and was told by several people here that it wasn't that great of a deal.

Has anybody heard about any FREE WL SHIPPING codes lately?

Huh, I've never seen it cheaper than $29. Can't help you with free shipping codes, I live 20 minutes from WL.

Check wine-searcher. Some of the really low ones are 375s but it seems that $19 to $20 is a pretty common, though competitive, price.

Jump on the 2005s at release. The Vall Llach barrel samples were 95 points, rich, mouth-coating wines.

Just one more sip.

For anyone in NJ, I just got back from WL and they've got 9 cases of it stacked up (well 8 after I left). They most likely stop offering it over the web once they've gone below a certain quantity.

What's the difference between the Vall Llach Idus & Embruix?

"Embruix is aged for 14 months in used casks (all French oak, previously used for the main wine), and consists of a blend of Cariñena, Cabernet Sauvignon and young Garnacha, supplemented with a bit of Syrah and Merlot. Idus is aged in new oak (light toast 300 litre barrels from Dargaud & Jeagle, medium toast 225 litre barrels from Radoux, all French) for 18 months, and consists of 40% old vine Cariñena, 25% Cabernet, 20% Merlot, 10% Garnacha and 5% Syrah." (from Vall Llac) That and about $30 apparently.

Board-O what do you think:

P.S. I will have a few Vichyssoise questions later.

To order, please click on the links below, visit www.pjwine.com, email info@pjwine.com or call 212-567-5500, option 1 to speak with one of our Wine Consultants; please do not reply to this email to place an order.

’04 Vall Llach “Embriux” $28.99
Already showing beautifully, this powerful and popular Priorat second wine from Vall Llach is outstanding and a great value for the region. Its name means “bewitching” in Catalan, and the 2004 is truly just that. It offers a plush nose of ripe mixed berries and black plum with hints of earth, smoke, chocolate and impressive mineral tones. The palate is full-bodied and voluptuous with loads of juicy black fruit flavors and notes carried along from the nose. Sensational acidity adds freshness and keeps this bold entry aloft. It will amaze you with its intensity right through to the end of the bottle.

’04 Vall Llach “Idus” $49.99
The “Idus” is a deep, expressive, complex and refined Priorat, and has excelled in the outstanding 2004 vintage. It is a distinctive and heady blend of 45% old vine Cariñea, 20% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Garnacha and 10% Syrah, aged in all new oak. The nose is rich with ripe mixed berries, black plum and notes of smoke, chocolate and vanilla. A deep line of minerality, integrated acidity and full, ripe, polished tannins create the structure behind the rich, full-bodied palate. Although still tight, it shows powerful black fruit, mineral and wild herb notes, and with a little time to unwind it will show all its deep fragrances and flavors. Decant vigorously to enjoy now with braised leg of lamb, rich stew or a juicy steak.

’04 Vall Llach “Vall Llach” $77.99
The 2004 Vall Llach is a deep, fragrant, ripe and balanced Priorat of prodigious proportions. During our trip to Spain last spring, it was one of the top barrel samples we tasted and yet more evidence of the high quality of the vintage in Priorat and in Catalonia in general. We tasted the wine again recently and it is showing better than ever. It is a blend of 65% very old vine Cariñena, 20% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon. In the glass, it is an opaque purple color and offers a wildly effusive nose of blackberry, blueberry and rich, smoky minerality. The attack is supple and loaded with black fruit flavors along with touches of licorice and warm oak. The palate is deep, plush, ripe, juicy and full-bodied. Cranberry and apricot nuances convey the harmonious acidity that effortlessly carries this powerful, complex wine into a long, layered finish. Now is the time to secure some of this outstanding blockbuster, before the ratings are in and all the bottles are snapped up. PJ 95+

I'd bet they're all winners but the prices for the Idus and Vall Llach seem a little high, based on the prices available for ther 03s.

Just one more sip.

I bought it at Crown which has many locations, but only in SE FL. Wine Searcher shows it also at Wine Barn in Orlando and Int'l Cellars in Tampa.

Vino-Ripper, PJ's does not ship to FL. They had some wine I was looking for and I came across this PJ's Shipping Policy.

At WL, 03 Yquem futures are going for 2,760 a case. I feel like 230 a bottle is going to be a steal in 5 years. i mean i saw a half bottle of 01 going for 250 at some other jersey wine store.

Too rich for my blood, is anyone considering?

Board-O, You have complained in the past about WL’s rather uninteresting wines that are offered via email. Given your Spanish wine expertise, does this qualify as a good offer? Have you ever had this wine?
