It may very well happen, considering how my moving patterns have evolved; over the course of my adult life I've gradually gravitated north. For most of my life I lived in Southern California before moving to Idaho, where I lived for 8+ years. I then took a job in Whitefish, Montana, where I've lived for the past 9+ years. It seems as though I keep moving closer and closer to Canada (I'm about 100 km south of the Canadian border now) so perhaps I'll eventually end up there! Big Grin

I have to admit that it's not been pleasant to have to sell off a portion of my collection over the past year or so, though it's been necessary to maintain peace in the duckfaninmt household (silk can probably attest to that as well, at least to some degree). That said, by no means am I purging my entire cellar, I'm definitely keeping a bottle or two of what's on the "for sale" list, along with a number of other bottles that are not on the list (no way I can give those up).

Anyway, thanks for your kind words on my collection... next time I'm up in Vancouver (I do get up there occasionally), I say we drink some of the stash!

Duckfan, if you move make sure you figure a way to keep shipping these wines to me in NY!

duckfaninmt;
Received the case yesterday - in great shape. My only comment is that box obviously took a tumble, as the taller bottle (Altamura CS) had all but busted through the styro shipper. No problems - all is in tact and waiting for the decanter! Thanks again.

kybo - Thanks for letting me know that the wines showed up in good shape, and I apologize that the Altamura broke through the top of the styrofoam packaging. I should have taken notice that this particular wine is extra tall, as compared to the others, and secured down the top of where it was situated with extra tape.

At any rate, thanks for letting me know that the wines arrived in good condition... I definitely go to great lengths to make sure the boxes I send them in are secured as thoroughly as possible (needless to say, I go through a lot of a couple types of packing tape).

Danny - Actually, I had some ideas/plans in the works, via a semi-lengthy trip down to California then to Nevada (both work-related trips), in late October/early November. I was going to take some time in between the two business portions of the trips to get down to SLO to catch up with you, Sticky2, and anyone else anywhere nearby, and have a kick*ss offline.

Well, those plans have had to be altered as mrs. duckfaninmt wants to go on these trips with me. Her plan is that we can use a few of the days in between the work portions to have a bit of a vacation together and do some bike riding before the snow falls in earnest here. It is something she really wants to do (and we are trying to get our marriage back in line) so it's kind of impossible to say no.

Needless to say, as much as I would love to get together "with the boys" I have to continue to try and keep things moving in a positive direction with the missus. As a result, I'll have to nix the offline for this trip and plan for something in the future, hopefully sooner than later... trust me, I would dearly love to make that offline happen (and it will!)

At times you sound like you are in a prison instead of in a marriage.

No negatives here, if she's happy then all the better, hope things continue to go well.

I have to admit that at times it does feel that way, which really blows. Frown

Still, I remain hopeful that she'll continue to lighten up regarding my over-indulgence in wine buying... all things being equal, other than going overboard in the wine buying, I've been a pretty fair dinkum bloke; heaven knows there could be (and are) far greater f***ups than this that one could do. It just seems like such a minor thing to get too worked up about, especially compared to other things that can (and do) happen in a marriage, and also when I've been diligently working at getting the debt down via selling some of my collection.

It's been a long time since that whole fiasco/charade started and while things are getting better, there's still a ways to go. I'm not at the point where it's "beyond all hope" and hopefully that point won't be reached. I just take it a day at a time and figure that somehow, some way things will work out for the best... whatever "best" is.

Anyway, that's more than enough drama from me today... think I'll have some wine tonight and think about a future offline with you guys! Smile

Will be working on getting it online in the next couple days. Gotta do a bit of inventory first to see what I have left (and what I refuse to sell! Big Grin )
