Due to certain circumstances that have recently come about (if at all interested, see my post at http://forums.winespectator.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/7986076161/m/884105715) I have to sell a good portion of the wine I have accumulated. Since it’s a fairly sizeable amount I’ll most likely be parting with, I figured I should split things up, starting first with the first part of the Cabs and Cab blends I am selling, with more to be added as time permits. I’ll then post a separate list for other varietals (mainly Syrah/Shiraz) as time permits.

For the most part I used the Pro version of Wine Searcher to obtain these prices so hopefully you will deem them to be fairly priced. Other reasonable offers will most certainly be considered. FWIW, I have listed scores wherever possible.

I currently don't have a PayPal account so for now check or money order is all I can accept. All my wines have been properly stored and are all in excellent condition. I ship via FedEx directly from my work (1-day, 2-day, 3-day, Ground options available). I have a fair amount of wine-specific Styrofoam containers that I will use but at the very least every bottle will be bubble-wrapped and protected as thoroughly as possible. To quote Foghorn Leghorn from his post at http://forums.winespectator.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/7986076161/m/480106715

“… once I receive payment for the wine, I am acting as your agent to ship said wine to you, on your behalf. As soon as I drop the package off at the shipper, the wine and all the responsibility for it is yours. I will pack the bottles very well, and under most normal and a few abnormal conditions, they will arrive in perfect condition.”

Anyway, if you’re interested in any of these please email me at borntoride3000 at hotmail dot com and again, I’ll post the other wines I have for sale as time allows.

Again, special thanks to Hunter, KSC02, Sticky2, and jgreen and I hope to be back on the boards again regularly soon.

Duck,
I wish I could help you out, but if you and the Mrs. ever make it to Hotlanta let me know and Mrs. Snipes and I will do our best to show her the light and you a good time. Good luck and no worries. It's Friday night, pop open a few of your favorites and tell the boss you all can deal with it in the a.m.

I am so bummed out, your cellar is just an awesome collection.

I would send you a nice bottle to cheer your up but your wife might think you bought something else.

I'll be sending you an e-mail soon about what I am interested in, but these will be hard to enjoy knowing how you had to give them up.

Very cool... thanks much for the offer Snipes!

Not to make light of the situation but, after reflecting on your sage advice, perhaps she'll lighten up a bit if I opened up a bottle of her favorite Shiraz (Glaetzer Amon-Ra) or Syrah (Red Car Shake Rattle Roll) Big Grin

Thanks for the props on my soon-to-be-dwindling cellar and for your kind gesture; I really appreciate it.

Yeah, I hate to have to part with these (wait until you see my Shiraz/Syrah list; it's pretty incredible if I say so myself) but it's just the way it is.

So no worries about buying anything - by all means enjoy whatever you get (I insist!) - and the next time I'm in Orange County perhaps we can get together.

Thanks also for the offer of a bottle but I think you're right... it'd be hard to convince the Mrs. that it was a gift. Eek

My apologies for the delay in getting back to everyone via this forum. As you can imagine (or perhaps not) things are pretty "icy" in the duckfaninmt household at this time (even more than I had expected) and that, along with substantial work and home obligations to attend to, it limits the time I have to be on the forum as well as:

1) Update the availability list for the Cab/Cab Blend list #1

2) Come up with prices for all the wines on Cab/Cab Blend list #2

3) Come up with a list of all the Syrah/Shiraz I have for sale (that's going to be a v-e-r-y extensive list)

Again, I apologize for the delay and will try to get to those things ASAP.

In the meantime, I wanted to mention that for now all the Leonetti Reserves are spoken for, as are the Insignias. The "regular" Leonetti Cabs are still available, however, if that's of interest to you W + A.

Italian Wino, I did receive your email, thanks very much for sending it. As soon as I come up with what I hope are fair prices for those particular wines I'll post those first on the forum.

As you can imagine, of the wines listed in the #2 list, the Shafers and the majority of the Quilceda Creeks are generating the most interest (I have already received an offer on the '01 and '02 which, if accepted, I need to honor). As a result, and as I'm hoping you can appreciate given my current situation, I want to obtain the best price I can for them. I'm not interested in an ongoing auction happening, however; I just want to sell these particular wines at the best price I can and in a reasonable amount of time.

Anyway, thanks for your patience and thanks to all those who have already emailed me. I'll update list #1 and come up with prices for list #2 ASAP.

A related thread for all you others considering proscribing your wine sins to the wife.
Duckfaninmt, I'm sorry to use you as the example, but perhaps some good can come of this, after all.

Duckfaninmt...an Oregon Duck fan I know...I can possibly help out...but only if Willamette, OR, Shea, etc is on the label.

Yo Chilepepper. I picked up three cases of Shea at his winery last week, spend a wonderful time talking to the new winemaker and checking out the new facility. 2006 Shea wine is still available.

Oh I have Estate and Wadenswil...what I don't have is pre-2006 Big Grin

Not to mention, my first order with Shea was 1st class...with Dick actually calling me to discuss shipping as Florida temps had just spiked at the time of the order.

Appreciate the props, Chilepepper (hey, there's some kind of funk thing going on when you say that over and over). But I digress...

The last time I was in Oregon I had the opportunity to spend time with my brother and on a perfect late morning/early afternoon we spent a lot of time visiting a number of wineries and tasting some awesome Pinot's... it was the wine tasting experience personified. Thankfully, I had the forebearance to leave all my purchases with him so that he and I could enjoy them together in the future. I am happy to say that none of the Pinots will be on the auction block!

Anyway, while things are still pretty "icy" here in the house, to the point of being extreme with a capital "E" (sorry to be sharing my personal life too much), I am encouraged by the emails I've received and I know that, with time, the right thing - the best thing - will eventually work out. I am taking the sage advice of a dear and valued friend who wrote me saying that I needed to be objective and think twice, looking at the whole picture, before purging my cellar. His suggestion to "sell off some bottles and settle the boat" is advice that I am very appreciative for because it's precisely what I'm going to do.

Anyway, I appreciate the emails received and to all of you who have bought wine I thank you and will make sure that it's taken care of properly and efficiently. Enjoy!
