Fridays and Saturdays work...The tastings are never overly crowded. They do a great job running them....You never have to wait more then 30 seconds to taste any of the wines...Easily the best run wine tasting I have ever been to and its a tax write off for all.

He goes by Krunch at sandburgcellar@gmail -- if you google Sandburg Cellars you get a pretty bogus, half-assed website, but you do get a phone number (312-337-7537). Google that number and you get Potash Bros. Markets (in Sandburg Village) in Chicago. It is a small, family-owned chain of grocery stores.

I called, and they do have a wine department with a wine manager (Alan). If you want to find out if jackass Mr. Krunch is working at Potash Bros. and using his position to set up bogus deals on our boards, give one of the Potashes a call.

Here is the website, different family members run each store. I am sure one of them will be interested to know that the trail leads back to their family's business.

Krunch came on here about 6 months ago, railing against Costco somewhat incoherently; if you search his past posts you'll find it pretty easily, but from what I could deduce he was an employee of Costco, working in their wine department. He planned to open his own store but Costco owned the space he wanted and refused to lease it to him. So if Alan Blum is Krunch he's probably not been there long.

Hope you get your money back. $3200 is an awful lot of wine.

Good lead, Dave.

Krunch mentions correspondence with John Gaherty (regional vice president).

You can find him here

To be clear Alan Blum is not Jeff "krunch" Kretchmar. He was brought in to fix the problem left by the afore mentioned Douch Bag. Jeff "krunch" Kretchmar is a lying manipulitive guy that claims a number of skills and awards that he has never had, nor earned. He is just a guy you want to avoid at any cost because should you give him money what ever amount that is the cost of your getting involved with him your money and your wine will be gone like Kaiser Sosa.
