2003 Waterford Estate Shiraz - Stellenbosch

Opened tonight with a 1 hour decant. A smoky nose which followed through to a tight finish. With mildly high tannins and dark berry flavors, I enjoyed it immensely. This is what I tasted and wonder if others felt the same way.

Always a problem when dining on the road.

While young, still a stunning bottle that drinks very well within the first 10 years imo.

The 2001 is also smoking good!

RIght now...98 Corison Napa Cab (a bargain at $56 if u join their case collectors club). Corison just lowered their prices for mailing list members. No fruit bombs here, but stands up to the best Napa competitors in my book.

'05 Sarget de Gruaud Larose - RP has soured on GL of late, but the Sarget at $25 is a steal.

'05 Ch.Gigault Cuvee Viva - a WS find, $25 Bordeaux bargain...

1994 Chateau Clerc Milon

$50 off a winelist. How can you not try it? A bit lean, but nice nose. Drink up.

We are in Austin to celebrate a graduation for our daughter.

Several things will be opened, but the one I brought with me is the 1984 Diamond Creek Volcanic Hill.
